Why sex tales failed to stop Arnold

Ok - it's really quite simple:

The overall morality of Americans has declined so far that "we" don't really care about the morals of candidates. If America really cared at all about Morality, Clintoon would have not have been elected to a 2nd term, he might have been impeached (removed from office) in his first term.

The media said if the wife stands by her man then it doesn't matter....remember that!!!!!

The media has a reputation for this kind of drive by assassination attempt and the public has had enough!

Schwarzenegger's success in shrugging off widespread, and potentially criminal allegations of sexual harassment

Schwarzeneggers success was that he didn't schrugg it off, he faced it head on with the most seldom used weapon in American politics, TRUTH.
Arnold acknowleged his trespasses and apologized for his behavior, only in politics would something so noble be considered a tactic.

Several reasons why the charges against Arnold did not matter much to the voters:

The election was held in California where actors/singers such as Michael Jackson, Michael Douglas, Warren Beatty and others have been given a pass for worse things -- not to mention the messages promoted by prime time TV.

It happened long ago with not one of the alleged victims having filed a complaint. And then there was the picture of one of them -- hardly the type to attract a grope.

All these years NOW has been preaching about one free grope and, along with the media and others, made excuses for Clinton's far worse behavior.

Since the Hitler accusations proved to be lies yet were repeatd, the other charges lost credibility.

Backlash to the media hysteria. The LA Times and others went too far.

IT was amusing to see even the "mainstream" press laugh at NOW for trying to make this an issue after their silence during the Clinton years. Remember Gloria Steniem? Before Clinton she wrote that if a woman felt "bad" about a consensual sexual experience the morning after it could be rape. When Kathleen Willey came forward she said that every man gets "one free grope". NOW has zero credibility.

The chief reason why it didn't work is that most voters thought it was all a sleazy lie. Did Arnold joke around with women on movie sets? Probably. So what? Did he sexually harrass them? I doubt it.

When I greet an old friend I give them a hug and a kiss. Is that sexual harrassment or loose morality? I don't think so.

The PC media can turn a pat on the head into a sexual crime. People are sick of that stuff. They are even sicker of this kind of dirty dumping on Republicans just before election day.

I haven't been a great Arnold fan, but this is nonsense.
