Which is why Arnold, and not Riordan, was the candidate and the winner.

I also heard Riordan say last night that Arnold is pro-gun control. Just great...

Oh, but if we had just nominated Riordan instead of that ultra-conservative Simon, we wouldn't have had to go through the recall in the first place. </sarcasm>

It's not about issues. It's about attitude. This is a carbon copy of the backlash by the electorate after 4 years of self hating under Jimmy Carter. Except the Calis weren't willing to wait for the normal election cycle.

He said Arnold also needs to tax internet sales. At this point in the proceedings, this should not even be on A.S.'s radar. Since GWB signed a 3/4 year order to think about it later, this has to be a non-issue. I'll tell you this, that would be a blunder akin to Billy Jeff Blythe taking on the "Don't ask Don't tell" in his first 90 days. The fact that RINO Riordan would say this hours after a "California Republican victory",(did you ever think you'd say that again?) shows how correct we were to avoid allowing him into higher elected office.Riordan should get off his a___ and start that other newspaper he claimed he always wanted for his beloved L.A.---God knows we deserve a better one than the L.A. Slimes, that Rag most of us cancelled years ago.

Without tax increases, the only way to balance the budget (in the short-term) is to drastically cut spending. If Arnold proposes this, and I hope he does, the special-interest groups will go NUTS. If he lowers taxes, I believe that businesses will return to California, which will generate income over the long-term, but not immediately.

I heard that on Fox too. Riordon is an Arnold insider and has access to the new governor's "secret" plan for California. Riordon said,
"I should have kept my mouth shut", refering to his remarks about raising taxes and establishing internet taxes.
McClintock supporters already knew the chances were good, that Arnie would raise taxes once in office. He has no intention of cutting education spending or reducing sociala welfare spending, so the only alternative left is for Arnie to eventually raise taxes.
