It's so obvious I feel silly posting this thread. Surely this has been discussed in DU, but I honestly don't remember it.

- Both the Dems and the Jews are/were made out to be evil and the principal source of problems within their respective empires.

- Lies were/are the primary modus operandi of both the Nazis and the Republicans. The most effective Republican lie being that the oppression of the lower class is the fault of the Dems and their pro-government, high-tax policies; that the Republicans are against government and taxes, and so the lower class should support them. In Germany the Jews were blamed by the Nazis of being the source of the German people's economic oppression.

- Both the Nazis and the Republicans connected/connect with their constituencies on a very basic, primal level.

- Both the Nazis and the Republicans attempt to instill fear (of the Jews and of the Dems, respectively), and use this as a principal weapon.

What else? I am not an expert on Nazi Germany. Who can recommend a good book or on-line essay?

Well you have to feel sorry for them, since Bill and Terry were behind our big wins in 2000, 2002, and 2003. you know they never forgave the Democrats for not really standing up for Clinton in 1998.

Why on earth would Rush give them the free advertising?

To expose them to main stream America. Fighting fire with fire. He talks about DU and Freerepublic in one day. The contrast between the party faithful of these 2 parties is extreme.

It is one of the first things I do when politics is mentioned. I issue a challenge to the person to spend a week looking at DU and Freerepublic to see which party they really think they belong to. Not many can take DU for long, it comes as quite a shock.
