Well speaking of Israel report off NY Post report that Israel when they attack Syria on early Sunday morning that they map out on computer on where bases of Miltants are stationed in Israel and one of them is in Damsuus Syria

To all canteen regulars...

First let me apologize for a long off-topic post, but I need some help and I hope that I can find some here.  Minor49er has been very active on this thread, and many of you are aware that she is my daughter.   Recently she asked me a series of questions on the war in Iraq and after questioning her in return it turned out that the cause of these questions was that her social studies teacher had made the following assertions in class:

1. That the U.S. deliberately targeted infrastructure targets.
   
   
2. That the U.S. destroyed the Iraqi economy.
   
   
3. That the U.S. destroyed the Iraqi culture by allowing the museum to be looted.
   
   

I am very disturbed by this and have decided to put together a letter to this teacher disputing these allegations and demanding a rectification.  I have no interest in this teacher becoming a war cheerleader, but I am interested in my children's teachers teaching facts.  The first point, in my estimation, is not only contrafactual but a complete inversion of reality.

I would appreciate it if anyone could provide links to documents concerning the above.   I am starting my own research, but would welcome any help.  In particular, I could use some information on:

• Documented casualty figures, both civilian and military.  I am under the impression that Iraqi civilian casualties were light, but have not seen any hard figures.
  
  
• It is my impression that there was a deliberate attempt to avoid infrastructure targets in this war, but I need information in two areas:
  
  
  • Hard documentation on targeting priorities.
    
    
  • I believe that the best argument the other side could make that there was deliberate targeting of infrastructure would be the power blackout in Bagdad and the loss of drinking water in Basra.  Any information on the cause and/or resolution of these incidents would be appreciated.
    
    
• I am aware that the museum looting story has been discounted, but could use links to news stories documenting that fact.
  
  

I am comfortable arguing the destruction of the Iraqi economy (c'mon!), but would appreciate any help there as well.

In any case, thank you for reading this and thanks in advance for any help.
