Don't know what to say, except that this is interesting--and wonderful--if correct.

This was just posted in the live thread

Just got this from a friend with a DC office:

Our DC office just heard these exit polls. Dem politicos are reporting a low voter turn out in the Bay Area so they are thinking its gonna be a blow out.

Davis' exit polls show:

57% yes on recall
43% no on recall
47% Arnold
34% Bustamonte

Take this for what it's worth, but sounds in line with the polling of late.

Speculation is the race may be called within a few hours of the polls closing.

Except that the first dozen court filings to enjoin the announcement will be filed about 20 deconds after the polls close.

I think it is best for us to not post exit polling data that we cannot confirm as breaking news. Anyone could make anything up at this point. Just ask Coop.

Thanks, AM

About an hour ago, I called a business in Westlake Village, CA and asked the guy if he had voted yet.

He said, "Not yet, but all the radio stations are saying that turnout is very light".

Yeah, sure...

A rumor that will send rats into a panic to vote and make GOP lazy.

I sure hope the voters in Calif. don't get over confident with reports like this. Sounds like a RAT covert plan to get the networks to call the election for Arnold and the recall a win to discourage voters who haven't yet voted for either. Remember the people in northwest Florida who were going to vote for Bush, but didn't go to the polls because the network called the state for Gore. BEWARE,THE RATS ARE EVIL.

If true, look for Davis and Bushdafatazz to file lawsuits protesting that illegal aliens were not allowed to vote.

i have talked to literally hundreds of people in san diego county, and i know of one gringo who will vote union. many latinos will vote yes and for bustamante.

but on the whole, the anger towards governor low beam is unbelievable.

it started in 2000 with his elecricity deals. the tripling of the auto registration tax just set off the explosion.

Speculation is the race may be called within a few hours of the polls closing....

....and then contested for weeks by Grayout Davis in the courts.

I never trust exit polls. The California vote tabulation system is fairly quick...we should start getting reliable numbers by about 11 PM tonight, and we'll have an answer by tomorrow morning.

Polls close by 8PM. Ballots have to be into the counties by 9PM. Most counties will simply run the ballots through computerized scanners and have the initial count done in a few hours (one good optical scanner can do nearly 20,000 ballots an hour). Once the counties get their numbers, they dial into the state system, upload their data, and the new state total is calculated within minutes.

The election is but a sideshow, the real show is going to be seeing what the Rats are going to do to try to nullify the results.

Speculation is the race may be called within a few hours of the polls closing.

Forget the speculation. Orange county (1.3 million voters) will not be reporting results until 10:00a.m. tomorrow morning.
