I think you're right. They're not bothering to show up. Its a definite GOP blowout and the polls where based on slightly higher Democratic turnout. With a predominantly GOP electorate, watch out!

If true, look for Davis and Bushdafatazz to file lawsuits protesting that illegal aliens were not allowed to vote.

Don't you wish everyone had felt that way about clinton ? One difference is that the Republicans nailed the Dems in Congress to Clinton...they had no way out, but to support Clinton.

Correct me if I am mistaken, I believe that GOP-leaning voters tend to vote in the mornining, and the Rats vote later in the day. Is this accurate?I dunno.... I always thought that Republicans voted in the late afternoon / early evening when they got home from work, and the Democrats voted whenever they rolled out of bed in the late morning, early afternoon. For many Democrats, it probably depends on when the union mice in the vans come by to pile them down to the polling place.
To: ambrose
Rule of thumb is that Republicans vote early in the morning before work and after work. RATs vote during the day for the most part as unions let their people off to go vote.

i have talked to literally hundreds of people in san diego county, and i know of one gringo who will vote union. many latinos will vote yes and for bustamante.
but on the whole, the anger towards governor low beam is unbelievable.
it started in 2000 with his elecricity deals. the tripling of the auto registration tax just set off the explosion.

Speculation is the race may be called within a few hours of the polls closing.... ....and then contested for weeks by Grayout Davis in the courts.

Dem politicos are reporting a low voter turn out in the Bay Area so they are thinking its gonna be a blow out.My north bay polling place was nearly empty. No waiting. This district is about 75% 'Rat.

There's already another thread reporting the RATS have a prewritten lawsuit ready to file at 1 am tomorrow morning. Am I the only sicko that hears this as music to my ears? As bad as the LA Times has made the RATS look, this is like icing on the cake. Bring it on !!!
The only drawback is the delay it may cause in the transition.

I'd rather keep Davis, drop 5 and punt (wait for 96).That's a heck of a long wait.
Personally, I think Schwarzenegger would end up being more dangerous because he would give that handful of weak-kneed Republican "moderates" cover to help the scumbag Democrats raise taxes when Arnold "very reluctantly agrees" to raise taxes, and says things like, "This budget deficit is far worse than we were ever led to believe," and, "The economy has not turned around as quickly as we expected," and "This will only be a temporary tax increase."
With Davis or Bustamante, the Republicans would stay united and rock solid against any Democrat tax hike, just like they did last summer.

I hope they're dumb enough to sue. Whatever they gain legally, they'll lose in the court of public opinion. I say let them bring it on!!!

Got this e-mail this morning:
Dear MoveOn member,
Right now there's something you can do to help get out the vote in the recall election and stop Arnold Schwarzenegger from hijacking our largest state. This is a very close race and every single vote is needed. But for many voters, just finding their polling place will be a hassle as many usual polling places around the state are closed today.
Your California friends can look up where to vote by going here:
http://moveon.org/pac/recall/materials.html
Forward this email so that your friends can use the lookup form. Better yet, give a few friends a call to make sure they know where to vote. And let them know how much we're all counting on them to keep Arnold Schwarzenegger's unqualified hands off of the 5th largest economy in the world.
If you're reading this email early enough, you can catch your friends before they leave the house for work. Give them a call and tell them where to stop on the way. The online lookup forms for many areas even provide maps. You, or your friends, can access look up sites for anywhere just by going here:
http://moveon.org/pac/recall/materials.html
Take this quick action today, and you'll be very glad you did when the results come in tonight. 1.4 million people outside of California are receiving this email. There's no question, that if enough of us take this one simple action that we could be changing the outcome of this incredibly close election.
Thank you,
-- Carrie, Eli, James, Joan, Noah, Peter, Wes, and Zack The MoveOn PAC Team October 7, 20003 California Recall Election Day
