Jennins says Arnold doesn't have a mandate, because the "Yes" vote is higher than Arnold's vote.
What will they raise the mandate bar to next, I wonder?

Well, go on, bash away. It is more fun with an audience, but I'm sure plenty of people will see it as time goes on.

Even the Hispanics are against those driver's licenses!
Haven't seen exit polls, but this came from the L.A. Times last week...
Q29: Are you more or less likely to vote for a candidate who supports the legislation which allows illegal immigrants to receive drivers' licenses, or does that not make a difference in your vote one way or the other? |

Love that Shriver story :). That's the kind of thing I'd heard about the Shrivers, they tried to sort of live a little bit apart and do their own thing. Not entirely, of course (I've read Maria's best friend is Caroline Kennedy --who also seems to live a fairly classy life, though I deplore her politics), and obviously they maintain their Kennedy family connections. But I think the Shriver parents tried to free them of some of the negative Kennedy family pressures (as illustrated by Scarborough's anecdote) and keep them apart from some of the bad acting up that some of the male Kennedy cousins in particular engaged in, and they had a generally more positive upbringing.

He's still losing to two dropouts.
The ACLU might have tried to give 48,000 and growing droppout vote to Busta if if could have helped.

Well, half a loaf is better than none, I guess, re Rob Lowe and fiscal conservatism :).

I don't doubt Katie Couric doing that. Good for Maria.

Honestly, my greatest fear was that Arnold WOULD get a mandate. He's better than the RATS, but he's worse if he uses a mandate to run off with his liberal policies.

Not only is the "Yes" vote higher than Arnold's, so is Davis's vote.
More people apparently want to retain Davis as Governor than want to have Arnold as Governor.
But because Davis is not allowed to be a candidate to succeed himself, it doesn't mean anything.
California is a strange place.

Bustamante swipes at Ah-nuld (This is your only chance to laugh tonight!)
No link, and I must paraphrase, as I just caught the
sound bite on KRON:
In his concession speech, Bustamante addressed Ah-nuld
directly: "Mr. Schwarzenegger, you''ve become very famous
making movies. I hope you keep on doing just that. Go
wherever you need to go... Stay as long as you like... I'll
be here, keeping an eye on things."
At least Cruz got one last shot in.
To: ElCapitanAmerica
Yeah, I caught that too. Cruz wouldn't be a real safe dude in my 'hood'.

Votes for Arnold are still higher than the 'no on recall' vote, which could be translated as 'yes on Davis' vote..
It's a bit facinating to see that the combined vote for Arnold and Tom exceed the yes on recall vote by 192,878 votes as of the last update.
