Rep. Peter King: Prosecute Leakgate Accuser for CIA Secrecy Violation

A leading New York congressman is calling for an investigation into whether Leakgate accuser Joseph Wilson violated CIA secrecy when he blew the lid off his role in a February 2002 mission to determine whether Iraq had sought uranium from Niger.

For the last week Wilson has been demanding an investigation into the Bush administration's role in revealing his wife's job as a secret CIA operative, a move that he contends was an act of retaliation for his decision to go public about the Niger mission in a July op-ed piece for the New York Times.

But Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., said Sunday that it's Wilson who needs to be investigated - and even prosecuted if he violated CIA secrecy.

"I assume that if he went into this job for the CIA, he had to sign an oath of secrecy - a confidentiality [agreement]," King told WABC Radio's Steve Malzberg. "And if he did, then he violated it and he should be prosecuted."

"He conducted a so-called secret mission for the CIA," King complained. "[However] he's talking about it all over national and international television - undermining the president of the United States. ... Why wasn't this guy called in before a grand jury?"

King says that if the CIA didn't require Wilson to sign a confidentiality agreement, then the agency should explain why not - along with why it picked the talkative Wilson for the sensitive mission in the first place.

"Why did they pick the guy who was anti-Bush, anti-war with Iraq, to go over and conduct a really half-assed investigation of Niger?" the House Homeland Security Committee member told Malzberg.

Was the guy who wanted Novak in jail a rat?

Here is what the mediots have hidden from America. The CIA boss of Plame has just recently retired/resigned.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/995426/posts?q=1&&page=44

AUGUST 29, 2003 : (ALAN FOLEY, HEAD OF THE WEAPONS INTELLIGENCE, NONPROLIFERATION, AND ARMS CONTROL CENTER ANNOUNCES HIS PLANS TO LEAVE THE CIA) A top CIA expert on weapons of mass destruction, who became embroiled in controversy over whether the White House stretched evidence about Iraq's programs, said he planned to leave the agency in October. Alan Foley, who heads the Weapons Intelligence, Nonproliferation, and Arms Control Center, told colleagues in a note dated Aug. 29 that he had been "thinking about life after the agency for some time" and decided to leave after 26 years to enter the private sector. ...While I can't prevent the inevitable speculation that will be generated by the timing of my decision, I want you to know that this is something that I decided entirely on my own," Foley said in the note, obtained by Reuters on Wednesday. "I can't deny that the pressures of the past few months have not weighed heavily in my mind, but there are many other aspects to my decision, not the least of which is that I'm intrigued by the prospect of trying my hand at a second career in the private sector," he said. - "Head of CIA Weapons Analysis Program Leaving," Reuters , 09-10-03
* Remember Joseph Wilson......this is his wife Valerie Plame's boss.2 posted on 09/10/2003 5:39 PM PDT by Dog
* Isn't it fascinating that we would have a new poster today talking about intelligence blunders and such? On the same day that Mr. Foley's resignation is made known. Quite a coincidence, isn't it?10 posted on 09/10/2003 6:21 PM PDT by Miss Marple
* Thanks for the ping, I believe Foley want's out before any investigation gets underway about Joseph Wilson & his wife's involvement in this whole Niger smear attempt 14 posted on 09/10/2003 6:35 PM PDT by MJY1288

Here is a possible scenario of this mess. Foley, Plame and Wilson with the help of the Clintoons and ?, cooked up this non event trip to Niger for Wilson.

Tenet was not aware of it as he had more serious things to keep track of. Tenet saw the report when Wilson got back and basically said it had little value.

The Rats kept this report on their back burner until they released their Yellowcake Scam I in July. That failed thanks to the internet with the exact 16 words that GW used in his SOTU address.

So they put it back on the back burner and started Yellowcake II which is the non exposure of Plame, a very good friend of $inator Hildebea$t. They blogged this non exposure story until they needed it.

They needed it to distract from Kay's report and the fact that the muslim traitors in Gitmo had connections to American Muslims who had donated money to the Hildebea$t which helped her to become $inator Hildebea$t.

So they and their bed butt buddies, the mediots and videoits went whacko for the first time in their lives that there had been exposure of a really secret CIA agent.

Now we know that she was not an agent, and it was no secret around the DC area that she worked for the CIA.

I think that Alan Foley, the newly retiring/resigning boss of Plame is a very guilt person in this whole mess. He and Wilson planned Wilson's trip as a trip wire to harm GW at some later time.

Many of us feel that the two CIA agents in the BBC lies about Yellowcake were Wilson and Plame.

A large % of former CIA employees and current ones are Rats, first and last.

They hate America as much as the other rats in America do.

Was his name Johnson by chance?

I may be misreading you, but are you saying that Plame is a friend of Hillary!? If I'm not misreading, then from whence does this info come?

There are a number of players in this affair. Wolfstar recently posted a vanity that explored the possible involvement of several media figures including Walter Pincus, Washington Post. Here's something I ran across last evening while reading Notra Trulock's book "Kindred Spirit" (page 297):

"I (Trulock) can't say that I hadn't been warned about the Washington Post, ironically, by a senior official of the Washington Post Company itself. Earlier that spring, this official warned me to "watch out for Walter Pincus". I was surprised and asked what he meant. He said that Pincus' wife was close friends with Mrs. Clinton and had received a high appointment to the intelligence section of the State Department - the Bureau of Intelligence and Research. Further, Pincus and his wife had been frequent guests of the Clintons at Camp David."

Congressman King has good reason to question the motives here. Wilson is going to get tangled in his underwear before this is all over.

Yep, she and Wilson planned their very expensive trip to Africa.

Ask Piasa for the hits re Plame and $inator Hildebea$t being friends besides the planning of the Africa Trip.

I would like to know if Plame made that trip. If so and depending on what countries were visited, she could violated banned travel for CIA people to potentially hazordous countries.

Piasa, miss marple do you have the links to where Plame has been documented as a friend of $inator Hildebea$t.

Right now my money is on Alan Foley the abettor and enabler for Wilson's trip to Niger.

It was a tripwire setup to harm GW and our side after the Iraqi War was started/over.

Your scenario makes sense.

Isn't it funny, though, that we haven't heard much about this resignation (early retirement?) in the network news. Thanks so much for repeating it here.

The mediots/videoits have kept Foley's retirement, resignation, firing, ? very quiet.

They want no attention on Plame's boss who probably set up this whole Yellowcake Scam with Wilson.

Excellent info Ben. I have tried to read most of the info on this story and either I somehow missed this quote or you are the first to post it.

I just saw WP reporter, Dana Priest,on MSNBC giving info on Plame from a story written today and the caption at the bottom of the screen while she was on was "The Spy Who Loved Me". I kept expecting to see an orchestra with violins in the background. The reporter said the front company exposure was damaging.

Isn't is interesting they never say the front company was exposed because Ms.Plame gave $1,000 to Al Gore using her super secret name and front company in FEC records. They have given not only to Gore on more than one occasion, but to Hillary's PAC,Kerry's campaign,as well as other dems.
