President George W. Bush welcomed Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki at an official state welcoming ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington today. He hosted a state dinner for Kibaki later in the day, the first such dinner for an African head of State since President Bush took power.

YES, Republic, yes. We are in intense warfare now with a Christian president. There have been a number of prophetic people who have had a sense of the importance to pray for his protection for they fear that an attempt will be made on his life, so PRAY for our dear Dubya and his family. It's crucial and urgent.

What a wonderful idea for a painting! I don't know, but I will see if I can find out.

From this picture, it appears that former President Bush's eyes are brown.

Poor Bob. He had open heart surgery not too long ago and it definately has affected his quickness, and alertness, if there ever was any. Lack of oxygen does that to post operative heart patients. I actually found myself feeling sorry for his family having to watch him implode.
George W. Bush continues to resemble the American Eagle in his countenance ..... He looks so very serious and presidential. Laura is a perfect looking first lady. No Dem can come close to either!
That said, back to hum drum!

I heartily agree. She doesn't need bows to accent her waistline. Most of us need something to conceal it. It only makes her look larger there. But the color is stunning on her.

I also like the LaHaye books. I've read all of them up to Desecration. My son and I take turns buying them and sharing them with each other (He also bought me Treason for my birthday. He's a great son!). I buy the paperbacks and he gets the hard backs. Now he wants to get them for his daughters, the children's version. I'm going to look into getting them for the girls for Christmas. You can mention books and movies and and and here. There are a lot of born-again Christians here. Love, Maryxxx

The bow makes her look bigger around the waistline, IMHO.

That royal blue is smashing. I just bought one with a little jacket and long skirt for special occasions. Covers the hump, you know. The V shaped neckline is much more flattering to her as well. Nice job, Fawnn.

My daughter--almost 10 yo.--just started reading the children's series and she really enjoys it. Haven't gotten my son (almost 12) into them yet but hoping to. I think the books make it so much more "real" to readers. Even tho we know the names of the people and exact circumstances are fiction, the underlying events related to the End are accurate Biblically. You MUST read The Remnant and Armageddon! IMO they keep getting better. Desacration might have been one of the "slower" ones but The Remnant and Armageddon are wonderful.
It's wonderful to be able to communicate with Christians!

It seems like we're at a critical point in our nation and even the world. There is a definite struggle of good and evil. I sense that Christianity is becoming more and more important to more and more people, but on the other hand, more and more evil things are happening, and being allowed and even encouraged to happen, everywhere. As the Christians and Christian influence become stronger, so will the fight of evil against Christianity. Our prayers are vital.

I found this picture at the George H.W. Bush Presidential website. You might find it interesting.....
These might also help you......
In some photos Bush41's eyes look blue and others darker.......just like his son's I guess.
I'll see if I can find a definitive answer on that.
And thanks for your country's support of our President, and your own personal support! There is no way to adequately express the importance of our countries' bond with each other.

A few more that might be of interest......
No luck on the eye color question. The pictures I've found are too far away to tell.....or in black and white.

This is a black and white, but his eyes look blue to me in it...... you think?
Also, this is a fascinating account of G.H.W. Bush's military career, with some insight into his humility and character.

Do you think the WH staff was aware of the close connection with Stephanie and Kenya?
I would think they would have invited her if they had......

The President of Mexico and the President of the Phillipines - 2 others. He doesn't seem to have many of them, does he? I understand foreign leaders LUV to be invited for a State Dinner but Dubya doesn't hand them out easily!
.........but everyone has prolly answered your question by now. I'm here the Morning after, as usual. Sigh.........

It's the Morning after and I don't know if anyone answered your question. The Washington Post usually list the attendees of State Dinners in their 'style' section. It might even be online.

I'll have to check with my son to see if he has the Remnant yet. Yes, it is good to be able to 'chat' with other believers. That's one reason I really like this site. We are plentiful, for sure. Yes, God is pouring out His Holy Spirit on the land in these last years. There IS a yearning for the supernatural and that's why so many people are involved in New Age stuff. They reject God and embrace the evil one. Funny, isn't it? I know they're searching for the meaning to life and trying to find it outside of Christ. Rather sad, too. And because God is going to be pouring HIS Spirit out on all humankind, the enemy is also working overtime. Too bad. I read the back of the book AND WE WIN! Hallelujah! Love, Maryxxx

Yes, every one of her State Dinner dresses has a bow in the mid section. I like this dress, loved the gold one she wore to the state dinner for Phillipine Pres. Arroyo, thought the dress for Mexico dinner was fine, but really thought the gold dress with the aqua? blue bow in the mid for the Poland dinner was the oddest. It would've looked better with highlights to match the bow. Seems she likes the bows. She's a beautiful woman either way.

Not only did he get that invitation to the State Dinner but he was on Brit Hume's 6 PM (EDT) news show in a Tux one of the evenings of the First Lady's Book Festival. He was presented an award for writing a book about slaves who became Christians, and "filling in the gaps" of history. I thought he might become insufferable after that award, but following up with a State Dinner? Oh my, his ego may not fit into the Fox studio set after this!
