[history]
The New York Times Magazine had a lively cover story in its Sept. 28 issue about the recall election, and it started with an equally lively anecdote about how Gov. Gray Davis' next-door neighbor disliked Davis' un-neighborly behavior so much she gave $2,000 to the recall campaign.

The "Tribes are people too" segment bears a view.
Leonard said Indian tribes would be "way down on the list" of special interests, noting that voters twice approved statewide measures authorizing tribal casino operations. "I would love to see a statewide vote on the agendas of the trial lawyers, the state employee union leaders, the corporations asking for regulations that benefit only them, or the radical environmentalists."
Blame it on the Indians. Way to go, Dude!

Just one small problem, according to the Davis camp. The woman doesn't live next door to the governor. In fact, said Steve Maviglio, the governor's spokesman, she doesn't even live on the same street.Davis' stench goes far and wide.

"By no possible stretch of the imagination are they next-door neighbors," Maviglio said. "She's on the other side of the (small artificial) lake. She can't even see the governor's driveway." I hate to defend the New York Times, but if only a pond separates the back yards of the two homes, it's not much of a stretch to call them next door neighbors.

Do a MapQuest search for: Lake Wilhaggin Dr. in Sacramento, CA.
I see no lake between the two streets, ergo, their properties could be adjacent?
Looks like the Dems are lying again. I'M SHOCKED!
