Three steps to the destruction of a nation: 1.Allow unlimited, uncontrolled, illegal immigration. 2.Ban the legal possession of all firearms. 3.Make self-defense a crime.

But, but, but, the libs said more, more, more gun laws would do away with gun crime??? What's up? This can't be. Some conservative is making things up. This has to be a lie. No guns, no crime, no murders. Say it ain't so. This gun grabbing has to work.

Boy, those gun confiscation laws sure made Britain a safer place, eh? Now if they could just get those darned criminals to obey the law...

and then there's this little tidbit from 4 October from Sky news:

GOVT'S ANTI-GUN MEASURES

The Government has responded to the latest shootings by revealing a range of measures to tackle gun crime.

A Home Office spokesman said while it remained low, there had been an unacceptable rise in recent years.

He said: "The Criminal Justice Bill includes our proposals for the five-year mandatory minimum sentence for illegal possession of a firearm.

"This is a clear demonstration of our commitment to both deter criminals from using firearms and to ensure that those who do receive appropriately tough sentences."

The Government is also launching the Anti- Social Behaviour Bill, which deals with the misuse of imitation guns and air weapons.

The spokesman added: "It is clear that legislation alone cannot solve the problem of gun crime.

"This is why we are also working closely with community groups to stop the emergence of gun culture.

"This includes £1.5m of confiscated criminals' money going to support local groups in the worst-affected areas."

Ah, yes. And yet another liberal idea flunks the pressure test.

This will, of course, be followed by the "Anti-rubberband bill" and the "Anti-sneer bill"...

I thought Draconian gun control laws were supposed to eliminate this nightmare forever.
Unintended consequences:

Now an unarmed law-abiding citizenry is facing the worst of society helpless.

Cool.

...'These guns are in the hands of the whole community. Guns are everywhere and they are being used by everyone.' ...

Proof that Britian's restrictive gun laws do nothing but put weapons in the hands of the most dangerous, and take guns out of the hands of the most responsible. Predictable. And pathetic.

This is where California is headed and electing Schwarzenegger is not going to help one bit, surprisingly, the guy is PRO gun control. Tom McClintock is unashamedly pro 2nd Amendment. Go, McClintock!

Guns are everywhere and they are being used by everyone

Wrong. It's exactly that kind of generalization that causes people to accept repressive legislation by dictatorial politicians.

During periods of gun prohibition, only criminals have guns. Righteous people have only..........law.

One of the reasons blanket gun bans can never work.

Anyone who is motivated and has a little basic knowledge and tools can make their own firearm and ammunition.

Firearms technology is over 500 years old and primitive weapons are not at all difficult to construct from materials available at any Home Depot and a drugstore.

A crude shotgun with ammunition can be made in about a day for a cost of around $30.

Yes it is crude but it is also very lethal.

If someone has access to a small decent machine shop, they could manufacture more advanced small arms, including repeating weapons. A gun ban would only encourage "underground" gunsmiths to go into business, serving illegal interests.

The gun Genie has been out of the bottle for centuries, you can't put it back now.

They should outlaw guns to eliminate the problem.

Here is what I posted on another thread:

There is an answer to Britain's rising problem of gun violence, and it's right under their noses:

"According to Chief Constable Kenneth Williams in Tony Martin's Norfolk County, all you need to do if someone breaks into your home is shout loudly, and the burglar's will run away". America's 1st Freedom Oct. 2003 Fugitive from Injustice p. 39.

So, it looks like we'll no longer need to keep that .357 at the bedside, because criminals will leave once we start yelling. Actually, I think Mr. Williams forgot to take his meds...
