New anti-Arnold commercial
Posted on 10/06/2003 9:49:02 AM PDT by Hildy
Just saw the new anti-Arnold commercial. It goes something like this: Close-ups of women against a white backdrop.
Voice over: If you have a wife, a mother, a sister, if you know a woman from work then...
YOU CAN'T VOTE FOR ARNOLD SCHWARTZENEGGER.
Blah blah blah...and then they have a quote from an interview in some entertainment magazine about sticking a woman's head down a toilet. But with no explanation that it was from a movie. It's outrageous and despicable. How low will these people go.
TOPICS: Miscellaneous; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: election; recall; schwarzenegger

He's not the only one who has said or implied it these last few days.
And I feel the same way you do about that.

Why don't you come home to California so you can vote for him yourself?
To: TomasUSMC
If you vote for McClintock
McClintock wins How's that? How 'bout if I vote for Gary Coleman. Does he win, then?

You have a chance to make a change; I hope you don't blow it.Unfortunately the McClintock supporters here aren't quite as honest as you. Most of them aren't from California, either.
To: Reagan Man
Can we ask the same of McClintock's supporters?
To: stands2reason
In the end now, after two months, I think the Arnoldnauts got the best of the McClintockers in the area of trashing and bashing, smearing and insulting, the others opponent and his supporters.
But on the issues, Arnie's Androids were no match for McClintock's supporters. Granted, Arnie was the better candidate and got his message out --- $18 million helped him do that --- but Arnie's candidacy was more about softball interviews, political rallies, soundbites and slogans, then it was about the real issues. Calling conservatives "rightwing crazies" didn't help Arnie secure all the conservative voters. And having been called a "nutjob" by a FReeper, for being a McClintock supporter, didn't make me feel good about some people I once respected around here and called my friends.
All's fair in love, war and politics. I just thought we here on FR, were basically on the same side. I thought we all wanted conservatism to triumph over liberalism. That's what FreeRepublic is all about!

There is a tendency around here to believe that the Arnold supporters are merely weak-kneed surrender monkeys and "sell-outs", but I don't believe they were ever truly conservative to begin with. How can a person go from "conservative" to pro-gun-control, pro-abortion, pro-welfare-for-illegals, pro-homosexual adoption, and pro-enviro-nazi? See what I mean? It doesn't happen.

If you had some ham, you could make a ham sandwich, if you had some bread.
Too many ifs.
If you vote for Arianna, she can still win.
But it's not going to happen.
Neither is McClintock.
A pro-life Republican cannot be elected governor of California anymore.
Get over it.
Let's elect someone who can save free enterprise in the biggest state economy in our nation.
An economy with the power to drag us all down.
Or pump us all up.
To: Question_Assumptions
There's a difference between a small district and a big state.
A pro-life Republican will never be governor of California again.
Ever.
Accept it.
Deal with it.
Respond to it in an intelligent way.
Don't flush your brains down the toilet over it.
There's still a way for all conservatives everywhere to react intelligently to the new political reality in California.
Voting for Tom McClintock for governor, as good as Tom is in his present elected position, is not the way.
To: ElkGroveDan
He was running for State Controller, not governor.
That's not even a close comparison.
Would you care to make a guess as to how many people in the USA know who the State Controller is in their respective states.
C'mon. Wise up.
A pro-life Governor of California will not come to pass. Not in this century.
