How desperate are Democrats? VERY! Almost a year ago, it was just anger at the loss of yet more seats in the House, as well as the unimaginable and historic loss of seats in the Senate, giving all three houses of government back to Republicans.
The absolute worst part about the loss being, of course, the fact that President Bush was the deciding factor in the 2002 mid-term election cycle. The President took a sizable risk, one that no other President had taken before, and went out to actively campaign in key races. His support, and the use of his political capital translated into enough votes to give Republicans the push they needed to win most of those key races.
Since then, the anger and rhetoric coming from that party, especially its angry, ugly left-wing members, has grown consistently more shrill with each passing month. Dont agree with me? Let me give you a typical example of what you will find out there in the left-leaning parts of the Internet. Here is an excerpt from the saveoursecurity.org blog called Kicking a** - Daily Dispatches From The DNC which was contemplating ways to win back swing voters:
-------------------------------------
Recently, I think one of those swing voters popped his head into our forum and said something like our president is a decent and honest man and why are we Democrats always picking on him? If he was an irrational right winger, we conclude all our rational and logic will never change his mind, so we kick his a** and say next...and if he was one of those swing voters, we kick HIS a** and also say next. But, if he is a swing voter, as I suggest, WE CAN GET HIM! We liberals should be on a MISSION. I am on a mission to get those swing voters or we will never get our democracy back from conservatism. We can shoot the b****** and blow the smoke from our fingers, and slam our make believe gun back into our make believe holsters, and be proud we won the debate but unless we convince that SWING VOTER, conservatism has won and America has lost.
-------------------------------------
First of all, please learn how to spell the word rationale," which means, basically, an expression of ones principles or reasons. Second, what in the world are they trying to say?
I find it amusing that liberals accuse conservatives all the time of being overly aggressive and violent, yet the violent rhetoric above is very typical of what you hear from the angry, ugly left these days. I think there is a word that is used to describe this kind of behaviour... Oh yes! Hypocrite!
I heard several priceless calls into the Michael Medved show the other day, one of which featured a caller who enthusiastically affirmed that he would celebrate in the streets were our President ever to be assassinated. Celebrate in the streets?! Isnt that what radical Muslims did when they heard of the merciless slaughter of 3000 Americans on 9/11?
Fortunately for those of us who are conservative, we can only gain from such rhetoric. Do Dems really expect swing voters to respond positively to comments like, we kick HIS a** and also say next? I hope so, itll make our job of winning over swing voters that much easier.
With that said, we need to watch the California election closely and expect that what happens in this race is a forerunner of what will happen next year in the Presidential election. Conservatives often talk of the liberals addiction to the use of the race card during election cycles, but, really, these folks have a whole deck of hateful cards that they regularly employ in their attempts to win elections.
Do they have 52 cards in their deck? Possibly. Lets take a look at some of the cards they play the most:
-> The race card
-> The gender card
-> The age card
-> The sexual harrassment card
-> The class warfare card
-> The voter disenfranchisement card
Did I miss any in this list? Probably. Feel free to add to the list.
When all those cards fail and the public votes conservative/Republican, they just invent some false greivance and take it to court, hoping that they will find a sympathetic judge to overturn the will of the people. Dont believe me? Wait until Davis is recalled and Arnold is elected to replace him. Democrats are already raising funds to challenge the likely outcome of Tuesdays recall vote.
Theyve tried a number of desperate tactics on Arnold already, many of which have the potential to backfire horrendously on Davis and his party come election-time. However, even if the worst were to happen for Dems on Tuesday, they still have one Ace to throw out. Of course, Im talking about the Terrible Trio who sit on the bench of the Ninth Circuit Court and who legislate endlessly in their never-ending search for so-called progressive nirvana.
They are a perfect fit for ultra-liberal California. They reflect the progressive ideal of how society should be run; i.e., the few elite who make the decisions for the ignorant masses, acting against the voters will, but for their own good, of course.
So, of course, if the ignorant masses make the mistake of voting Davis out and Arnold in, I have to think that the California Supreme Trio will make every effort to right the social wrong that was committed. Hopefully they wont get the chance.
Whether or not they do, dont think for a minute that Dems wont go immediately to court if Davis and Bustamante lose the election. Theyll do it in a heartbeat. They probably already have several drafts covering likely events ready for when the worst happens. Know this; the worst will happen for them, and the courts wont be able to take back the results, no matter how many trumped up charges of conservative bullying, or voter disenfranchisement they bring to the courts. Daviss time as Governor is over, and lets hope that other Dems in office, both in California as well as in other states, will soon follow him into retirement.
