McClintock Calls on Schwarzenegger to Resign If Charges Prove True
State Senator Tom McClintock called on Arnold Schwarzenegger to withdraw from the race for governor if allegations of improper sexual advances prove to be true.
Asked by reporters what he would tell Schwarzenegger, McClintock said, "If those allegations are true, you should drop out of the race."
McClintock was careful not to condemn Schwarzenegger out of hand, but made his feelings on the issue clear. "If the allegations are true, and again coming as late as they are, I believe they need to be treated with great skepticism, that conduct is reprehensible," he said.
He went on to tell reporters that if the charges are proven, Schwarzenegger does not deserve to occupy the governor's office. "As the father of a 13-year-old daughter, I would have a great deal of trouble accepting that that kind of conduct has been elevated to the highest office in the state," he said.
The potential scandal hovering over Schwarzenegger could provide an unexpected boost for McClintock's campaign. The conservative state senator is current lagging well behind both Schwarzenegger and Democrat Cruz Bustamante in the polls.

This one is probably ready to file charges, if Davis has found her yet. He groped her behind the leg.

McClintock has probably committed the most serious transgression of the GOP's 11th commandment. Well, you know how we 'right-wing crazies' are...

It looks like the photographer ambushed McClintock. He always has that pop-eyed, "I just pumped the neighbor's cat" look in all of his pictures.

Did Arnold engage in some sexual act involving a 13 year old girl? I thought these were all adult women.

McClintock said, "If those allegations are true, you should drop out of the race." A few years ago, Republicans making that same quote were lauded as "heroes" by many conservatives.
That was when the person being accused was a demonrat.
Now that the person being accused is a Republican (in name only), anyone making that same statement is attacked by many of the same "conservatives".

I demand Arnold resign if he didn't grope willing nubile fillies in his youth. A guy who works out that hard had to get more than a little action.Exactly. Do you think it was even necessary for him to grab somebody at all? He'd have to trip over a few willing nubile fillies just to harrass someone. But he said he did those things. Go figure.

Tom is right, and the fevered Arnold fans should send their daughters into a dressing room with the barbarian.
I've had it with them, and Arnold.
Nothing more to say here ... working for Tom as a decent Californian volunteer.
Good night!

Go get em, friend.

If Arnold drops out, Tom wil still lose. What excuses will the McClintock supporters use then? They still will not accept that Tom had no chance of winning. Eternal Denial.
To: EternalVigilance
Tom was never going to be Governor in 2003. However, he could have used this campaign as a stepping stone to the Senate...if he played his cards right. Unfortunately, he got dealt two pair and threw away three hoping for a trip.
Now he has to fold with that pair of tens. Too bad.

No, actually, nobody of any political background really cared about BJ's transgressions, because everybody knew Billy Jeff was a loser womanizer with a b*tch wife. Bill's whole problem was that he couldn't tell the truth even in a court of law, although nobody would have cared about or been surprised by the truth. He was, in short, a liar.
Arnie handled it correctly, told the truth, and that's the difference.

McClintock said, "If those allegations are true, you should drop out of the race." I've been holding out for Tom, despite my wife urging me to vote for Arnold. I've donated money. But if Tom is going to try to piggyback onto the Davis/Slimes October Surprise Hit Piece I think I shall vote for Arnold.
I am sick and tired of Republicans abandoning their fellow Republicans as soon as the DemRats score a few points in their character assasination ploys.

If Arnold drops out, Tom wil still lose. BS. Sans Arnold Tom would win this in a walk.
But that is irrelevent. Arnold isn't going to get out, and Tom doesn't think that either, I'm positive.
But let me ask you? If the scurrilous charges were true, would you think Arnold should get out?
