Cars should not be driven. The consequences can be brutal and fatal.
These guys have been doing this for 30 years and this is the first incident of any kind.
I drive the I-95 to work every day and there's at least two accidents daily just while I'm on the road for a 10 mile stretch.
Only trained professionals should train wild animals.

This is a fear I have for Steve Irwin. He is absolutely without equal at what he does and prides himself on never having been bitten by a venomous snake. Still, odds are that when you face death for a living, sooner or later it accommodates you.

A codpiece is kind of like a protective cup that you wear over your privates. Unlike a cup though, it's over the pants and sort of sewed into the fabric.

"Zoo or Taxidermist!" I seriously doubt they will destroy the animal. White tigers are far too rare and valuable. It isn't as if it was stalking neighborhoods and attacked someone. The tiger was in an unnatural setting and likely responding to the noise of the crowd or something with which he was unfamiliar if this was his first performance. I am quite sure, however, that it will be his last. I agree with Elliot. I think he is headed for a life of leisure and breeding at a zoo.

I think you can survive getting your jugular lacerated. I read a story about a Jehovah's Witness in England who got attacked by some whacko with a machete on the street and was laying in a pool of his blood, and accepted a blood transfusion (hence the point for the article being published) and surviving.

What's with all the comments being removed? Were there that many tasteless and inappropriate remarks on this thread?

Sounds like the tiger may have hit the jugular. If that's the case, is recovery even possible? Yes. There was an NHL goalie a few years back whose jugular was cut by an opponent's skate during a pileup. He bled an astonishing amount onto the ice, but they rushed him to the hospital and he recovered fully.
Of course, skate blades are less septic than tiger teeth...

I have a flash for you. Sooner or later it accommodates everyone. If you go out doing what you enjoy, you have lived better and likely contributed more than the yutz that went to work every day hating every living second of his/her life.

You knew what I meant didn't you? Most of us die a natural death, barring some bizarre tragedy or being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I wasn't begrudging anyone doing what they love to do. I am thankful there are those who do love it. I enjoy animal shows and I have the greatest of admiration for people like Steve Irwin, who not only performs a great service to his community, but truly loves the animals he works with and it shows. I think he probably discovered completely by accident that he just happens to be a tremendous showman as well and that too is a service. With all the air time he gets on several channels, he is givng a wonderful education to kids (and adults, for that matter) all over the world.

I noticed that too -- I'm ashamed to admit. There needs to be a new safety video, called "Things Tigers Don't Like."
I think the writer and editor were asleep on that one.

"we humans only have 3 so-called natural predators- i.e animals that will prey on/hunt us: Grizzly bears , Great White sharks and Tigers." We are hardly "natural" prey to Great Whites. In all my reading of shark attacks, more often than not they spit out humans after a taste. It's just that they can do a lot of damage taste testing. Perhaps you were thinking of the much more lethal "tiger shark," not that we are exactly a natural menu item to them either, but they'll make do if humans are available.

I guess I disunderstood your intent. Personally, I think Irwin is a nutcase {8^,
But, to each his own... as the saying goes.

"Emergency officials arrived at the MGM Mirage Hotel-Casino around 8:20 p.m" Arrived???? Wouldn't it standard operating procedure to have emergency personnel standing by at such things. I mean, they do that at car races and even most amusement parks have emergency techs on site. Heck, they even had an ambulance standing by at most of the Hillary booksignings....okay, so that one is a no brainer. Surely a look from that woman could be more deadly than ANY pussycat, no mattter the size. In any event, it seems a little odd that they would have to be summoned to the scene.

"You left out the Muslim terrorist animals, who want to kill anything and everything." Animals generally only kill to eat and in self-defense (whether the threat is real or perceived as I suspect is the case here) or defense of their young. I consider Muslim terrorists lower than animals, human-like creatures possessed by demons. It is my understanding that the only other creature besides humans that will kill their own kind without reason are rats. How fitting.
