Nonsense, Chris Matthews is the New Republic of talking heads-- a liberal who doesn't take liberal crap and is willing to criticize the Left when they deserve it.

The thing I've liked least about Chris is his adoration of John McCain and Jesse Ventura.

If he did then he's a bigger phoney that the man he claimed to detest: Bill Clinton. He admited rooting for Gore to Jim Leher on PBS during the Fla. recount. He cried on camera when Algore conceded after SCOTUS ruled on Bush vs Gore. He idolizes John McCain. If he said that he voted for W after all that then he is full of sh*t.

Chris Matthews I don't think adheres to any specific politcal party nor does he come off as being easily fooled by many of tricks of the left. Chris was an official in the Jimmah Carter white house Chris was chief of Staff for Democratic House Speaker Tip O'Neil. Chris was an employee of the DNC... but that would not make him a Democrats would it? That makes him not attached to any party.
When Fox is getting 2 million viewers to less than 100,000 for Chris, Chris, in the great "Bill Clinton" tradition, is saying anything he thinks might help him keep his job.

Sorry but I don't obsess over the man and didn't know about those tidbits.

This is most liekly true. Should I argue this point?!

Matthews is all talk. He got some conservatives excited during the impachment drama, then when push came to shove, he was a good little soldier.
Don't give this shill credit, or the time of day. I said so back then, and say so now.

He cried on camera when Algore conceded after SCOTUS ruled on Bush vs Gore. Thanks for the reminder. He was touched by albore's eloquence and said if he was as eloquent during the campaign, he would have won.
His numbers are tanking and have never been as high as during impeachment (when he took a moral stand against X42 and hillary). Even his puff ball interview with the hildebeast didn't resurrect what was. This man, who always has two or three liberals vs. one, is fooling no one.

The problem with Chris is not his party affiliation but his admiration for charismatic characters regardless of ideology or character.I think you are exactly right. I used to watch him more regularly and I have seen him almost in tears over a Bush speech during the September 11 times. And more than once he referred to a Bush address at ND that he thought was beautiful and moving. Chris lives for causes bigger than himself and for ideas that inspire men to great things.

Dang I didn't know that. I have a new found respect for Chris. I guess not all of the press are a bunch of "liberal weenies" (as Imus calls them).
