Political commentator Rush Limbaugh (search) returned to his popular radio program Friday and said he was "frustrated" about allegations that he was involved in the sale and use of illegal drugs.
Limbaugh was back on the air one day after his name surfaced as the possible target of a criminal probe into the sale and use of illegal drugs in south Florida.
On the national program, which is carried by about 650 stations across the country, Limbaugh spoke briefly about the allegations of his drug use but avoided going into specifics. He said he was "a little frustrated" that he had not "gotten to the bottom" of what was happening.
"The story in Florida really is an emerging situation ... I don't really know the full scope of what I'm dealing with," he said. Limbaugh said he'd been humbled by all the supportive e-mails he'd received from fans, estimating he'd received about 25,000.
As for all the media stories that have emerged about the drug investigation, Limbaugh said that he was "tempted" to respond to them but "I'm not going to go there."
But he vowed to discuss the case in detail in the future.
"Rest assured, I will discuss this with you and tell you how it is ... maybe more than you really want to know about this," he said.

Rush a 'Little Frustrated' by Drug AllegationsI'm a little frustrated by his refusal to simply say, "I did not illegally acquire prescription painkillers."

I sure do wish Rush would come out and declare this whole mess to be utter BS. It is very difficult to be patient.

I will be interested to know how he could take some many lorcet and lortabs and not have his liver shut down. The oxycontins are one thing, 20 grams or so of tylenol is another.

I'm a little frustrated by his refusal to simply say, "I did not illegally acquire prescription painkillers." I am starting to believe that he could not truthfully do so.

I predict that somewhere down the line, this housekeeper will come to regret her new ill-gotten wealth. Celebrities just can't be too careful with who they hire for ANY job. While hired for one job, most use the access as a ticket to use real and imagined information for future smear campaigns or blackmail. For all we know, this woman could have been a DNC plant. The thing that makes me saddest, is that whether anything comes of this or not, Al Franken will make political hay with it for the rest of his rotten life.

I would imagine his lawyer has told him not to comment on anything regardless of his guilt or innocence.

"Rest assured, I will discuss this with you and tell you how it is ... maybe more than you really want to know about this," he said. You should be a little more prepared here. Those don't sound like the words of a man who is ever going to claim that 'this story is BS.'

I sure do wish Rush would come out and declare this whole mess to be utter BS. It is very difficult to be patient. I do as well, but have started strongly leaning toward his inability to do so and remain honest and truthful on the matter.

To: MrLeRoy
I'm a little frustrated by his refusal to simply say, "I did not illegally acquire prescription painkillers."His failure to say that today means that the story is likely true, at least in part. What he did say sounded a lot like "I don't know how much they can prove, and won't know what to say until I do." A sad situation...

It is standard advice of a lawyer not to talk for any reason. Cut back on the uppers. You are ahead of the game.

Has anyone mentioned that this was Rush`s "big opportunity" he knew it and he failed miserably.
He does not have mass appeal for the sensibilities of all America. His following is huge, but not as huge as NFL football.
The people who offered him the job probably knew that and are gloating to high-heavens at how they arranged the double punch. They were just waiting for the first slip-up to do this.
But, Rush took the chance and is now paying the price. If he is congnisant of the way the liberals work, why did he fall right into their trap.

I would imagine his lawyer has told him not to comment on anything regardless of his guilt or innocence. Ding Ding Ding!!!
But in the past, Rush has often commented on celebrities and politicians accused of illegality or misconduct and wondered aloud why they do not come out with both barrels blazing and trumpeting their innocence from the roof tops if they are being wrongfully accused.

The story has apparently been sat on for 2 yrs by the Enquirer, maybe he can't remember.
I'm not sure what to make of it.
