Grey Davis Attacked Female Aide; LA Times Knew, Reporter Says
American Reporter ^ | October 3, 2003 | Jill Stewart

Posted on 10/03/2003 9:59:56 AM PDT by mgfile

American Reporter Correspondant Jill Stewart then a writer for New Times Los Angeles revealed in 1997 that California Governor Grey Davis attacked aides, hurled vulgarities and ashtrays at them, and 'behaved badly' as Arnold Schwarznegger described his own behavior yesterday.

Moreover, Stewart, a former Los Angeles Times staff reporter, says editors there knew of those attacks from accounts provided to them by their own staff reporters, but none the less concealed those accounts-apprarently, even as it prepared an October 2 expose on sexual harassment invloving Schwartznegger.

The facts of her article were never disputed by Davis, who was then engaged in a bitter campaign for Governor against millionaire Republican businessman Al Checchi.

Big deal, Davis is a creep, the Times is worthless. We all knew that.

Hello, Matt's up to his elbows in dirt from the 1970s right now. Please leave a message at the sound of the beep.

I posted this back in 1998

I'd hoped to help defeat him. Lundgren would have been much better.

One is just an allegation supported by affidavits (DAVIS), whereas the other
has the imiprimatur of being in the FBI files (c/o Her Royal Highness and DNC).

Well, these allegations seem to go all the way back to 1997. That's ancient history and we can't hold that against him. Arnold's "bad behavior", remember, dates from the 1970's, so it's still fair game (different rules for Republicans).

I'm sure the LA Times would never sit on this story. Just like they wouldn't wait 'til a week before the election before they published a hit piece on a Republican. Journalistic principles, doncha know.

Here's what Terry McAuliffe had to say last night:

"There's a pattern of inappropriate behavior towards women," McAuliffe told CNN's "Inside Politics."

"Sure, it will have an impact" on the election, the DNC chief predicted. "[He needs to] explain himself."

McAuliffe warned, "the voters of California are going to have to make their mind up if they want someone with this kind of past being their governor."

But he was talking about Arnold.

"the Times is worthless. We all knew that".

...In passing my dentist told me that his brother is a reporter for the L.A. Times. I just let it pass, I decided I didn't want to discuss the L.A. Times with someone who puts dangerous implements in my mouth.

As I understand it, he'll [Drudge] be giving calls back on October 8th.

But only if you've got unsubstantiated rumors that George Bush snorts crank in the Oval Office bathroom, or maybe if you have nude photos of his daughters.

You won't see anything like that from Drudge. The greek is his dominatrix and will not punish him anymore if he doesn't continue to attack Arnie.
