Me too. I have noticed there is a lot more beligerence among the newer members. The disruptors get ZOTTED, but the "sleepers" seem to get a pass just because their "join date" is aged by 6 months. They are easy to detect, just look at their Comments page and you can see it (Bush is the devil; Bush is evil; Bush wants children to suffer, or, perhaps, some other cleverly veiled comment). There are also a number of ultra-far-right-wingers - Buchananites, John Birchers, etc who joined FR in the early days, became disgruntled and disillusioned when mainstream conservatives took over during the 2000 election campaign, and are now feeling it's "safe" to come out again because "Bush is vulnerable now."
In the case of this thread: these people find Rush almost as dangerous to their cause as the left does. After all, if Rush were knocked off the air, perhaps there would be room for some of their beloved shortwave radio kooks to enter the mainstream and WAKE UP THE SHEEPLE! </eyeroll>

millions of [drug war] prisoners...are getting what they deserve Someday, millions of people who vote to continue the policy of treating our bodies as though they belong to the socialist collective are going to get what they deserve. Someday, they are going to learn a conservative lesson in real personal responsibility. If you've been one of those people, there's still time for you to ask your victims for forgiveness. If you wait too long, then you may have to learn your lesson in personal responsibility at the Final Judgement.

No one said he was taking 10,000 pills a day. That would kill him.
According to the email Limbaugh allegedly sent Wilma on May 28, last year he was taking about 100 "of the little blues" every two to three days:
"100 = 2.5 to 3 days...of the little blues. You know how this stuff works...the more you get used to, the more it takes. But I will try and cut down to help out...But I kind of want to go out with a bang, if you get my drift. Hee hee hee."
Hey, at least he can laugh...

Knock off the slander."Apparently 'Koolaid-drinker' is now a verboten term. My post #870 contained it and was pulled.
It's about the 3rd post I've ever had pulled, and I participate in some heated debates!
Color me startled, to say the least.

Your response to my post against the use of the word "Hitlery" epitomizes the reason many smart people avoid Free Republic, Democratic Underground and similar forums. "Hitlery" and "Shrub" and other like-minded names are like big, blinking signals that say: "This is not a place where intelligent and reasoned debate takes place." Listen, cupcake, whenever I need your help to best define "intelligent and reasoned debate", I will wring your neck.
I don't believe I shall ever need your help correctly defining 'hard-core, unrepentent neo-Stalinists', 'running dog, lick-spittle lackies of the collectivist elite', 'jack-booted National Socialist', limp-wristed lap dogs of their communal Overlords' or 'cowtowing handmaidens to their Soviet masters'.
No offense, cuz I really love you, man. Hugs....?

I know that he can't talk about it. I've said that 3 times. I don't need to know right now. All I said was he handled it badly and his comments that he doesn't know what he is dealing with is not truthful and insulting. He would have been better off saying nothing at all. As I said several times before, all he had to say was his attorney has told him not to talk about it and move on.I see what you're saying, but I had a totally different impression.
First, I was leaning toward believing the story. I was impressed with the way he addressed it. To my ears he sounded like he so badly wanted to deny it but had been instructed that would not be wise at this time. If he did not mention it at all, that would be very suspicious and raise more questions than the way he did handle it, IMO.
I don't see how you can flatly state that it is not truthful for him to say he doesn't know what he's dealing with. What do you mean by that? Again, I was thinking he was involved (still think it's possible, but less likely after listening today). IF he is being lied about by this maid and out of the blue these allegations are hitting the news, then in fact how would he know what he is dealing with?
I do not see how one can state it as a certainty as you have at this point.

I don't recall mention of legalizing drugs as a part of the conservative values for which FR was founded, yet those types seem to be the ones who hijack so many of these threads.
You could always ask the founder of this website about it.
"There is nothing in the U.S. Constitution that authorizes the federal government to wage war against the citizens of the United States, no matter how well-meaning the intent. The Bill of Rights means just as much today, as it did on the day it was written. And its protections are just as valid and just as important to freedom today, as they were to our Founders two hundred years ago. The danger of the drug war is that it erodes away those rights. Once the fourth amendment is meaningless, it's just that much easier to erode away the first and then the second, etc. Soon we'll have no rights at all. "

People should NEVER take meds like that without demanding that the doc take blood tests, such as for hyperthyroidism, or hypothyroidism etc....and trust me you are not alone!! The docs who do that should be reported in my opinion!Just for the record, blood tests alone will often not catch more subtle thyroid problems. Many of these can be easily caught by simply taking your temperature several times a day for three or four days (I can't remember the exact times you're supposed to do it). If your average daily temp is below normal, you probably have a slow thyroid.

Rush is now expressing hurt at Sharpton's calling him a racist. He's saying he has been one of Sharpton's biggest supporters in the Democratic presidential race.
Rush is sounding great.
To: headsonpikes
Yeah, it's hardly insulting, let alone slander. You could try hitting the abuse button again on that post and asking them to reinstate it.

Rush supporters can fantasize about "rope-a-dopes", etc. but it looks like there is some substance to the accusations. I didn't believe it at first (especially the part about cigar boxes) but, without a blanket denial today, I think he has a problem.I can't wait to see which of us has sharper perception. I was just the opposite of you, inclined to think there was something to the story until I heard him today. My impression has to do with his words, tone and attitude.
We'll see.

" If drug users go into rehab, all any judge will give them is a slap on the wrist."
A lot depends on the circumstances. If Rush has completed a drug rehab program and it's in his past-he's in good shape. If he's been caught in a federal drug investigation-there are sentencing guidelines that apply. If there is solid evidence that he has possessed the large quantity of illegal narcotics, the housekeeper claims,it could go beyond possession and into distribution. The distribution and trafficking charges have to do with the weight of narcotics in your possession. Possessing more than 4 grams of a Schedule II narcotic, under Florida Statutes,is a felony. If Rush has not seen or heard from this woman in years,he's golden. If the feds have him on tape, buying the huge quantities alleged,he's toast.
To: cyncooper
First the king of virtues, then the king of conservatism. Rush even said that he has never owned a pair of jeans, because they don't show consevative image?
To: Sacajaweau
Wilma the maid hasn't worked for Rush since July 2001. You tell me?? So she waited 2 years to go to the prosecutors office to tell them she is Rush's drug dealer???
Oh yea .. it's a set up .. that or some kind of extortion
