There are some defenses you do if your innoncent and some you do if your guilty. What type is this?Until he -- or now his lawyer(s) -- finds out what the police are investigating him for, how can he even develop a defense.?

"There's is nothing more obnoxious than politics in sports."
The only think more obnoxious is sports in politics.. it eats up a lot of Rush's show :(

You must be the astute one in the family.
Lets take it a step further.
What does it mean for the Democrats chances in 04 if California is in play?
Do they have the extra time and money to campaign in Florida Pennsylvania or Michigan?

Having a drug problem is one thing. Breaking the law to feed it is another. We'll just have to wait to see, I guess, whether it's one, both, or none of the above.

You are demanding to not be informed. And you're succeeding in your quest for no knowledge! Congratulations, I guess. I'm not demanding to be informed, I want to be informed. I also realize that he is probably being advised legally to say nothing. I don't see that as inappropriate, I see that as prudent.
I'm sorry that you feel so upset over not getting the answers you "demand". Welcome to reality - you'll get used to it in time.

People take drugs because they are in pain. With the possible exception of the teenager who is "experimenting" with something just to see what it's like, drugs are ALWAYS taken to relieve pain.
While opiates (Vicodin, Oxycontin) are prescribed to relieve physical pain, they can also do wonders for psychic and emotional pain. There are psychiatrists out there who prescribe the stuff -- behind the government's back --when the "sanctioned" antidepressants do not work for some patients.
That is why there's no such thing as drug "abuse." People who take a lot of opiates are doing it to relieve some kind of pain. If Limbaugh was taking a lot of opiates, there was a reason, and it is valid, and it is not shameful.
I had a girlfriend who had debilitating OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder). Years of therapy and years of various drugs did nothing to stem it. Finally, she discovered Vicodin. It worked. It stopped her OCD. She began working again. She became happy again. Of course, she was forced to acquire it "on the street" -- actually, a nice suburban home -- but she did what she had to do. She didn't care -- she had pain, she had a problem, and here was a particular collection of molecules that got rid of it. Vicodin, for her, was a godsend.
No one should judge Rush Limbaugh for taking a particular collection of molecules. He obviously was doing what he had to do.
It's time for society to quit attaching a stigma to certain substances. They're just substances. They stop pain. And that's all that matters.

If it hasn't been mentioned before, the National Enquirer has a cute little habit of only publishing half of the evidence they have on someone, wait for them to strongly deny it in public, and then publish the rest of it and seal the person's fate. Something to think about as you listen to Rush today.

Ahem, there a good attorney then there are well known, high profile attorneys who handle the stinky cases.Roy Black handles the stinky ones for celebs and powerful people, like...Manuel Noriega! When a dictator and drug lord needs a top notch lawyer, who does he go calling? Roy Black!
If Jonathan Cochrane showed up in a murder trial to defend someone, ahem, do you think he does it because the guy was set-up?There are people who defend guilty people, and Black is one of them.

I had the same reaction in my earlier post . . . but consider this: what if in fact this maid was a Dem "agent" put in to set him up with drugs that SHE planted? And what if, to say so, would destroy any case against her? And what if those who put her up to it are "bigs" going all the way to the top of the DNC?
My tendency would be to do exactly as you said---in my words, "I've never been addicted to painkillers, and I've never purchased painkillers illegally in any fashion." But, if there is more involved here, we might be talking big time scandal . . . and not on Rush!

I waited for this program/response for 24 hours to listen to nothing????? I duped myself. I have only myself to blame. I have better things to do.
If you only tuned into Rush to listen to him hang himself in what he has stated yesterday was an investigation he knew nothing about, cry about his problems, or resign, yes you wasted your time and you should have better things to do.
To: Joe Hadenuf
Do this include all the "maggot infested dope smokers?" Is Rush a dope smoker? Dope smoking is different than getting a dependency on painkillers as a result of a surgery.

Dershowitz is a sleazeball appeals lawyer. He specializes in getting clients off who have already been found guilty.
Roy Black is just as highly visible as Dershowitz, but as a criminal defense lawyer, well respected, non-controversial, and damn good at getting his clients off. He's not made a career out of offending half the world's population with self-serving arrogance and pomposity.
Thank God Rush was smart enough to hire him!! If Rush ever faces criminal charges, (and I don't think he will), just imagine what hell his enemies inside and outside the legal justice system, will put him through?

Rush is also not commenting because he's trying to tempt the press into releasing more of what they have (ie. the National Enquirer tapes.) It also puts the prosecutors in Palm Beach under pressure to make a decision on indictment. Rush isn't talking, but the press wants answers. Have you ever played poker?

Lawyer's rule number one: "guilty or not, shaddup about it!Unfortunately, that is the same response of an addict. It is also the same response that a radio host would use to keep his ratings high-is this ratings season ?
However, I find it hard to believe that Rush could be an addict since 1998 without some people close to him noticing and intervening.

Ya know, the real worry I have in the far back of my mind is for his security. Now that this is out, it would provide a cover angle if someone wanted to make an Arkansas political hit. Should something happen to him, the Dems would immediately claim that his alleged involvement with black market and drugs was to blame, ya know, happens all the time in S. Florida.
Tinfoil, I know, but unfortunately not something that can be completely dismissed as not possible. Considering that this story has been sat on for 2 years, then the Mulholland Dems have known about it for 2 years.
To: Joe Hadenuf
Oh baloney. You listen to you lawyer in these cases whether you are guilty opr not.
Thanks anyway, Miss Cleo.
