OCTOBER 3--Meet Louis Beshara and his wife, Gloria Rodriguez. The Florida couple are at the heart of the drug scandal now enveloping radio superstar Rush Limbaugh. Investigators allege that the duo illegally sold hundreds of thousands of prescription painkillers from a Palm Beach-area pharmacy they owned. According to a Palm Beach County Sheriff's search warrant affidavit, Beshara provided Hydrocodone, the powerful and addictive painkiller, to middlemen drug dealers like Joseph Coppola who then resold the pills to users. It has been reported that Limbaugh scored some of the Beshara pills via Wilma Cline, a former maid at the radio star's West Palm Beach mansion. Beshara and Rodriguez, who each face two felony drug trafficking charges, are free on bail, though Beshara is under house arrest. (8 pages)

Rush had done something else. By not saying anything, he denies the media more fuel for the fire and the opportunity to keep this story alive.

I know what you mean, but I disagree...the less news the media has on such a sexy story, the more they will make up and insinuate. Him not denying, will only lead "journalists" to the summation that he has a problem. He is in a pickle in a PR aspect.

Completely agree. I don't know much about criminal law. I am a civil litigator and recently got caught up personally in a lawsuit. I tried to handle it myself and it back fired. So I hired my best friend to represent me. He corrected my mistake and had the suit dismissed in about 1/2 hour.

It is stupid to personally defend yourself against serious charges. Klintoon never defended himself. He had a cacophony of synchophants to accuse the accuser. When you are caught in bs, let the professionals handle it. You don't have the same perspective when you are emotionally involved in a situation.

If there was an investigation, and it was a fraud, his entire team would launch an all out attack on the maid, the cops, the dealers. They'd go for a first round knock out. Before this goes one inch further.

If what you say is true, then it would seem to me that any lawyer worth their salt would take a little time to figure out who all the player's are.

Why sue an unemployed maid/drug dealer if there is a deeper pocket in the background pulling all the strings?

How could he function on a bunch of this stuff? I've listened to this guy for years. Other than when he "sounded funny" because he was going deaf or was deaf I've never heard him sound wasted. Never heard him slur his words, talk oddly, nuttin....
