I respectfully disagree. The left has made a cottage industry of supporting drug addicts and alcoholics.

If Rush has a pain killer drug problem, this won't "damage him beyond repair" unless his previously loyal viewers decide they are so perfect they cannot support someone who has a problem.

Having a drug problem is one thing. Breaking the law to feed it is another. We'll just have to wait to see, I guess, whether it's one, both, or none of the above.
