No doubt. I couldn't believe he can say that with a straight face. Rush, you know what the accusation is. Come out and deny it if it is false.

He knows whether or not he was addicted to painkillers. He doesn't know if the authorities are looking to charge him with a crime. They don't typically go after users, so he's going to keep quiet until the leagl situation is cleared up. It's the only smart thing to do.

Just the fact that he is dodging the drug question is brutally harmful to Rush. If there was nothing there, or nothing to hide, he would say so......Simple as that.

He may not. Of course this is speculation, but if he sent his maid to get the pills from the pharmacy, she may have bought them on the street (pocketing the cost difference).

I'm sure he was taking the drugs, and am confident that he wouldn't have gone the illegal route deliberately. Trouble is, he has people working for him, some of whom may not be loyal.
