Doesn't he know whether or not he illegally purchased prescription pain killers?

He may not. Of course this is speculation, but if he sent his maid to get the pills from the pharmacy, she may have bought them on the street (pocketing the cost difference).

I'm sure he was taking the drugs, and am confident that he wouldn't have gone the illegal route deliberately. Trouble is, he has people working for him, some of whom may not be loyal.

The maid said this all started because her hubby was on pills and Rush asked her for a few. Does this make any sense to you??

If he was addicted, he would have had his own source before she arrived.

My guess is that this lady and her hubby are dealers and she just happens to work for Rush and so she started on this path of self-destruction implicating "her boss".

And he was in detox twice?? What does that tell you? He wanted to be an addict and would do anything to continue??

I have news for you: opiates cost far more on the street than they do in a pharmacy. That excuse won't fly. As someone mentioned, a single vicodin can go for $20 in the open market; "oxys" can cost upwards of $40 for one pill.
