Don't know if there's anything here, but in trying to get information about Ed Shohat, quite an intriguing web is revealed. He's the attorney for the alleged "maid" to Rush Limbaugh who's reported turning him in for illegal prescription drug purchasing. His Democrat Party ties are known .. but there's more.
Shohat is also the attorney for Eduardo and Hector Orlansky, whose financial intrigue is described here:

It just show happens that Espirito Santo Bank formed a partnership with the Orlansky brothers for the purpose of funding their lucrative factoring business.

That information on Business.com has a url shown, but it's not in sync with the name. It's http://www.bpm.it for Banco Popolare di Milano, an obviously Italian site all in Italian.
The brothers Orlansky are being repped by Shohat as a result of their defaulting on some $170M owed to Espirito Santo.
Google search on Eduardo Orlansky:
From what I can find, Shohat is most commonly an Israeli/Jewish surname.
There is a Gil Shohat who is a German Composer from Israel and a present/former(?)Israel Finance Minister named Avraham Shohat.
Not wanting to get into stereotypes but this would not be out of kind for a lawyer from Miami.

U.S. Atty. Robert Merkle said attorney Edward Shohat began the trial by saying Lehder, 38, was a businessman who wanted to develop a resort on Norman's Cay in the Bahamas. "Now he is saying, 'My client may be a bad boy, but he is not a part of this indictment,' " Merkle said. Lehder is charged with being a leader of the infamous Colombian Medellin cartel, which investigators say is responsible for about 80 percent of the U.S. cocaine supply. If convicted of the 11 counts in his indictment, Lehder, who was extradited to the United States from his native Colombia, could be sentenced to a maximum of life in prison and millions of dollars in fines and property forfeitures.

Glicken Charged With FEC Violation. The Miami Herald (7/10, Bussey) reported Miami business executive Howard Glicken, "one of the Democratic Party's biggest fundraisers, was charged Thursday with soliciting $20,000 in illegal foreign campaign contributions in 1993."
Glicken, "who said he had helped to convince Vice President Al Gore that the 1994 Summit of the Americas should be held in Miami, agreed to plead guilty to two counts of violating the Federal Election Campaign Act, his Miami lawyer said."
The W. Post (7/10, A14, Lardner) reported Glicken lawyer Ed Shohat "said Glicken has agreed to plead guilty to two misdemeanor" FEC violations. Each count "carries a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a $100,000 fine." Gore spokesman Chris Lehane said yesterday: "Glicken has been a political friend and supporter of the Vice President as well as many other Democrats. Vice President Gore regrets that Howard and his family face these difficulties. The Vice President recognizes both the seriousness of the charges against Howard and the fact that Howard is taking responsibility for his actions."
A Gore aide "said Glicken is 'not involved in the Vice President's political activity, and we do not foresee that he will be.'"
Most of the persons named Shohat who hit the radar are from Israel. In 1997 there was a columnist writing for the daily Ha'aretz named Orit Shohat.
In the case of F. Lee Bailey, he may have deep-sixed a rival to edge his way into a case where a big $$$ payoff in cash was possible. See also the previously posted article where he describes the unorthodox delivery of his fee at one time.
He also may be in the Chris Lehane/Al Gore inner circle rolodex judging by his involvement with Howard Glicken previously posted. Makes his current association with a Housekeeper all the more curious since she - to the best of our knowledge - isn't in any legal hot water.
Circumstantial, sure but it smells of a setup, IMO.
He will be found innocent or guilty at trial which will never happen. He hired the best. With his money he would be an idiot to do otherwise.

Now (crafting a tinfoil helmet and donning it)...Let's just say for the moment that this was orchestrated by the likes of Lehane/McAuliffe/Snakehead and back-room operatives at the DNC. Not Manufactured entirely but a small non-newsworthy story that has been cultivated into what they hope will be a crippling scandal. Could those behind all of this - assuming that they are indeed the collective "OZ" - have made a tactical error in their choice of who to get this housekeeper lawyered-up with?
We've seen the likes of McAuliffe be so brazen. It wouldn't be out of character.The amount of drugs being said is seemingly outlandish to just take one "wrong" aspect.
This does have the potential of blowing up in their faces. They may think that they can totally control the pace and track of this but what if they can't. What if they underestimated their opponent. I'd love for this to turn out to be totally false and it just could be their undoing.
On top of that, these people are convinced that they can read public opinion. If it all turned out to be true, it could REALLY backfire when people are presented with horrific addiction stories AND it turns out that the story was held as a trump for years (as it looks like it was).
I just think that no matter which way this goes, if there is a chance of the involvement of DNC types in this, it needs to be exposed and in a big way.
Maybe McAwful is worried that he will be ousted as Dem Chair if the party continues to sink like a stone. I think it's McAwful job. And, Howard Dean and Wes Clark were useful idiots attacking Rush two weeks BEFORE the drug allegation.
