Phila. Black Clergy Leader Wants An Apology
by KYW's Mike Dunn The head of the Philadelphia Black Clergy says Rush Limbaugh's resignation from ESPN is not sufficient. He says the talk show host should apologize to Donovan McNabb and all African-Americans.
The Rev. Robert Shine says the resignation was only the first needed step:
"He needs to retract his statement. He needs to demonstrate some repentance for having made a statement that has inflamed the entire nation."
Shine says a Limbaugh apology is in order not only to McNabb, but to all people of color. He says Rush's reticence to apologize shows his "disingenousness" about African-Americans.
Shine issued what he called "An Open Letter to the Republican Party." In it he describes Limbaugh as a GOP spokesperson and compares Rush's comments on McNabb to controversial statements in the past year by Republican US senators Rick Santorum and Trent Lott.

Wasn't the statement about a single player? I guess if he went to the appropriate Philly church and apologized he'd be absolved of any sin in his entire life.
I mean why not? I works for others.

Here's hoping it will be a cold day in hell before Rush apologizes for giving his opinion in any forum. Isn't that why ESPN wanted him on the show in the first place?
To: Sub-Driver
I could care less if Limbaugh's comments inflammed Rev. Shine's hemmeorhoids. His fifteen minutes are rapidly ticking away.

And why aren't you Preacher man more concerned with why african american babies are born out of wedlock and black daddies don't bother to commit to the moms?
To: Sub-Driver
If Rush came to his church and publicly committed hari kari, this guy wouldn't find it sufficient.
To: Sub-Driver
Ok I am sorry that Mike Dunn gets to speak in public.

What a bunch of horse dung, how about firing all the racist professors who preach the hate whitey sermon all the time, demand an apology from them as it hurts white children.

BTW, I'm still waiting for Dusty Baker's apology to me because he believes I can't tolerate the heat as well as blacks and latinos...

Rush swerved into the Affirmative Action Sacred Cow.
I wish he had stood his ground.
I can't blame him for being over it, however.
I know I am.
