Condoleezza Rice gets little slack from her African-American critics

Women know how to make peace," the elegant Susan Taylor, editorial director of Essence magazine, told a largely female audience in Louisville Tuesday at the 11th Annual Women 4 Women Luncheon. "When women don't participate fully, things fall apart," Taylor said.

Thoughts of Condoleezza Rice sprang to mind. Why is it that President Bush's national security adviser doesn't go down easy with a lot of women? Could it be that Washington Post columnist Courtland Milloy was on to something when he referred to Rice as a warrior princess.

No peacemaker is Rice, or so it seems. Certainly, it cannot be said of Rice, as it was of former EPA administrator Christine Todd Whitman, that she's a wind dummy. No. Rice is a major player among administration hawks. Indeed, when he interviewed Rice Sunday, Fox News Channel's Tony Snow noted that the President has said he scans the newspapers, but relies primarily on Rice for his information.

That is the sure enough truth!! I have been on some mailing lists and I have submitted truth. Today, editors of The Black Commentator perceive Rice much as DuBois did Washington. Rice, they've written, is "the devil's handmaiden" and "the purest expression of race traitor."

Rice's cousin, Connie Rice, told Russakoff that "white people's attraction to her cousin is more complex than they realize." She and Condoleezza, she said, were schooled to be "fluent in all kinds of white cultures. We float right through them. But there are very few interracially fluent whites."

"Whites have no idea," Connie Rice said, "what I've done to make you feel comfortable, to neutralize your racist expectations. Condi does it to a tee."

That's one strategy for raising competent black children, but it's certainly not the only one.

Good gosh. If Rush had said this, the entire world would know by now. Where is the outrage from the media? Left leaning media..... They just irk me.

The fact that she acts willingly in the service of the warmongers in the Bush administration doesn't preclude me from grieving that such an accomplished black woman is casting her pearls before swine.

The black leftists in the media can't stand the fact that Dr. Rice is strong, smart and conservative.

I've read Essence Magazine before, and no offense it's awful magazine. The only 'black' mag I ever pick up is perhaps Jet Magazine because they have no nasty,hateful articles like Essence. Essence is one long whine about 'white women taking our men, our bad hair days and nights, our nappy hair, mariah carey doesn't say she's black, what's tiger's problem? does clarence thomas like black women..." What has that bitch Susan Taylor done for anyone lately other then spew jealousy? and hatred?

I just love it the way these liberal blacks whine about not having enough blacks in office. Condi Rice occupies one of the most powerful positions in office! They must like it when an idiot like Sheila Jackson Lee is in office so white people can point fingers and say 'look blacks are incompetant' OR is the game to dislike anyone that white people love? Is it because pubbies don't have their heads up Oprah's fatbutt, and prefer Condi's intelligent,intellectual discussion?

Who the hell are these people to talk about Condi and civil rights when she grew up in a segregated southern town herself? They OBVIOUSLY have not seen her phone book resume. The liberals hate it when they can't claim one for their own, or having benefitted from their AA largesse.6

These people have too much time on their hands so they need to dig up dirt on Condi and esp. Rush Limbaugh. They need to go back to school and get an education in something other than the politics of person destruction.

Yep, the $$$ should not have been spent on the war. It should have been given directly to blacks in the form of reparations and other handouts.
