[history]
As senators on the Judiciary Committee prepare for more partisan fights over President Bush's judicial nominees, lawmakers of both parties are supporting a New York bench nominee with an unusual distinction: a "majority unqualified" rating from the American Bar Association.

Schumer wants her? Is this a carrot to get him and the others to stop filibustering?
If not, the GOP should filibuster her nomination. Oh, wait, they'll cave in for being labeled racist while the Dems cried bloody murder being labeled themselves over Estrada.
More caving in by the spineless GOP. That's what it sounds like to me.

'Mornin', Diego. Over here where I live, in my parallel-universe, Schmukie was just beaten senseless by his gold standard, and hildabeaste has another unscheduled strumpet-appointment with Satan - a real bendover.
Orrin Hatch and Arlen Spector were suddenly re-joined at the groin causing many problems including yellow eyes and ear leakage.
The guy who said it first was right: "These assholes in the Senate would wear togas if they thought they could get away with it!" Stay well, compadre..............FRegards

If this Judge Dora L. Irizarry was "recommended" by Schumer, then the judge is a corrupt liberal scumbag and the nomination should be killed promptly.
Am I to understand that Schumer recommended this scumbag judge to give himself cover in the Hispanic community for Borking Estrada and then Bush goes and helps him out by nominating this pig?? God help us. Bush can't be this stupid. I am definitely not counting on the GOP Senators to show any spine. Schumer? I'm dreaming this. (Checking.... Nope this isn't from the Onion.)
The payoff. I better read soon about the payoff.

Two of the Democratic filibusters have been against judicial nominees rated "unanimous well qualified" by the ABA, which Mr. Schumer once called the "gold standard by which judicial candidates are judged."Facing little scrutiny however is Judge Irizarry, despite her rating of "not qualified" by each of the 15 ABA committee members who evaluated her.
Yo, JohnHuang2, this is really from the Onion, right? I been snookered?

I tell you all,the whole Congress is in bed together, both Democrat and Republican. If what is said about this person is correct no wonder the Judicial System in America stinks.
The Democrats with the help of the Republicans are putting people on the bench with the intent of destroying our Constitution and installing a dictatorship.
We have a government ruled by KINGS and not for and by the people.

Today, for instance, the Judiciary Committee plans to vote on Mississippi Judge Charles W. Pickering, nominated to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Judge Pickering's nomination was spiked last year when Democrats controlled the committee. He was renominated and is expected to pass out of the committee on a party line vote today, but faces a filibuster on the Senate floor. This should help the GOP's chance of winning the gov's mansion in Mississippi.
