The President had a very busy day. He spoke at a signing ceremony for the first Homeland Security funding bill (for 2004); met with White House General Counsel Alberto R. Gonzales, Chief of Staff Andrew Card, and Homeland Security Advisor John Gordon; Pakistan's Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, who expressed cooperation in the the war on terrorism and a mutual desire to deepen bilateral relations; and NASA administrators, and space crew, the latter being members of the International Space Station crew 6.
He met with Colombia's President Alvaro Uribe in the Oval Office to discuss security issues, and also toured a Davenport, Iowa, Sears manufacturing plant that makes farm equipment seats.
Laura Bush gave television and press interviews; spoke at a book festival organized by Mrs. Putin that was modeled on Mrs. Bush's book fairs in the US; and went to the Bolshoi Theater with Mrs. Putin, Mrs. Kocharian of Armenia, and Mrs. Pyruanov of Bulgaria, to see Don Quixote.

"Let's see .. Sneezy, Wimpy, Trudge .. jeez! you guys are embarrassing me .. move it!"
Thanks, Gretchen!!! Our Laura is radiant .. she radiates the beauty that only goodness within can display. If any of you have a chance to see Rummy's time before the Appropriations Committee .. near the end especially .. when he's interrogated by Jim Moran .. it's priceless! I ADORE HIM!! He is something .. no emotionalism, pure factual data, and good-natured to the end ... even going up to schmooze with the panel at the end to shake their hands and kibitz (even the idiots), and has that confident-- but not arrogant --- attitude and smile that you gotta love.

First of all, I can't tell you how much fun it is to be part of this group and "talk" to you all (as you can tell by the length of this, I love to "talk"). I'm addicted!First question (remember, I'm brand new to this) where do you find all of these wonderful pictures?
Next question; I've been looking at archives of "A Day in the Life" and was so excited to see the following link:
Let's celebrate the Bush marriage
http://www.FreeRepublic.com/forum/a3aeb11d14c99.htm The link is several years old. I excitedly clicked on it, holding my breath to see these wonderful people together . . . and just got red "x's". I was so disappointed! Is it something I did wrong? These two are such an inspiration to me. Just looking at them together, you can tell they've been through a lot together (his drinking, their inability to conceive and then her dangerous pregnancy, the elections, 911, etc.) but they have grown stronger and closer in their trials.
You can tell that Laura has happily sacrificed the quiet life she perhaps would have preferred, so her husband could live out his dreams, and you can tell that he knows what she has given up, and cherishes her support, which she gives with all her heart. When I look at the two of them together, and I see that true love, with God obviously as the center, it motivates me to be a better wife and support my husband even tho his choices aren't necessarily what I would have chosen.
Anyway, is their any way to access these pictures, or perhaps could we have an early Anniversary Tribute?
I love seeing the First Lady laughing; she obviously loves every moment of her life. What a joy! As for the shoes, I thought perhaps she and the other first lady should have traded!?

Thanks for the pics. What a devoted person you must be to do this day in and day out. I just want to tell all of you out there, it is never too early to start thinking about next November. Some of you out there might never have been envolved in politics before and maybe some of you have, regardless, it is vital that all of us go out there and work our butts off. This election is going to be close, another historical election. It is going to be won at the grass roots level, so please, get out there and do everything you can to get this great, honorable man re-elected. What would we do if we didn't have daily pics of W? I don't even want to think about it. Thanks again rintense
