The President had a very busy day. He spoke at a signing ceremony for the first Homeland Security funding bill (for 2004); met with White House General Counsel Alberto R. Gonzales, Chief of Staff Andrew Card, and Homeland Security Advisor John Gordon; Pakistan's Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, who expressed cooperation in the the war on terrorism and a mutual desire to deepen bilateral relations; and NASA administrators, and space crew, the latter being members of the International Space Station crew 6.
He met with Colombia's President Alvaro Uribe in the Oval Office to discuss security issues, and also toured a Davenport, Iowa, Sears manufacturing plant that makes farm equipment seats.
Laura Bush gave television and press interviews; spoke at a book festival organized by Mrs. Putin that was modeled on Mrs. Bush's book fairs in the US; and went to the Bolshoi Theater with Mrs. Putin, Mrs. Kocharian of Armenia, and Mrs. Pyruanov of Bulgaria, to see Don Quixote.

***Winter's here before fall even gets a chance! Freeze here tonight; lake effect snow up by Superior.***
Same here. I had to put the furnace on and it's only Oct. 1st. A sprinkling of snow expected, but only in the hill country, which thank God is NOT us.

Thank you for posting my favorite - the one at the convention when they are hugging to tight - it's such a special picture of their devotion to each other. So refreshing to see such REAL affection.

The Dose Posters cull these fabulous photos from various news web sites, such as Yahoo, Netscape, and WhiteHouse.gov. We link them from the news sources' servers, and the sad part is the news outlets do not keep them on the web beyond a couple or three weeks. After they are withdrawn, our links don't work, and you see the Dreaded Red X.
If you see photos you want to keep, right click and Save As to your hard drive, renaming without spaces in the title (you can use underlines between words, like this: Laura_Podium_BookFair_Moscow_2003.jpg ).
I like your idea for an anniversary tribute - I think rintense used to do that each year. Any who have saved and can upload Twosome Photos, please be ready come early November!

There is something wonderfully clean and childlike in Laura's expression, so artless and free - I get the feeling of her enjoying herself as one of the children would, who would be hearing children's stories well told.

Naw, doesn't bother me...I grew up in Southern California.
Temps 80s/60s there even now.
(Though it IS strange that you are in summer togs in *normally* rainy dreary western Washington!) ;-)

A veritable feast of gorgeous photos tonight, GretchenEE! Thank you!
Laura certainly looks happier to be in Russia than she was in France...LOL!
Mrs. Putin is looking very pretty these days, isn't she?
And the special treat of photos of Rumsfield are especially appreciated!

I ordered my doll, or should I say PRE-ordered it, seems ages ago! Have to check with them about that!

Thanks SO MUCH for the bonus pics, oWf! What a treat! I especially like the one of them on the couch--they look so comfortable and homey.

Is there a way to post here from my hard drive? I only know how to post pictures from other websites. I don't have a website of my own to post from, as I have seen some do. Thanks for any help you can give me!

I think when he got the name of Ronnie RayGun it scared the communists into compliance.
SOmetimes, there comes a time when Diplomacy at the point of a sword is sooooo much more effective.
