[history]
Washington -- Arnold Schwarzenegger, who admits he used then-legal steroids to help create the mass of muscle that made him a bodybuilding champion, movie star and candidate for governor, says today's athletes shouldn't use the same chemicals that aided him.

The 2 Faces of Arnie ? Some role model.
Was his heart surgery steroid related? Very likely.
"If he knew then what we know now, he wouldn't have done it." ... BS

OK - now you've convinced me. I'm switching my Arnold vote to a Bustamonte vote (or a McClintock vote - same thing).
I just cannot believe that Arnold used steroids - what a shocker!

....yawn....so? Arnold is an intelligent guy who took some risks, when those risks were less well-known. He's known as an ex-body-building star. Should he be so PC and worried about appearances that he turns his back on his former profession? I think not. I'd think less of him if he said something like "some of these people, who have been my friends, use steroids--I can no longer associate with them because I am running for office."

(I'm voting for Arnold. McClintock doesn't deserve my vote!)
To: NormsRevenge
You have finally convinced me.
I'm on my way to California to vote for against Arnold.
I understand California election [officials?] can't ask anyone for documentation.

And at the time Arnold was using steroids, nobody wore seat belts.
Helmets for bicycle riders were non-existent.
Drivers used three-lane roads, with the middle lane being available for passing in either direction. (Amazing!)
There were no warning labels on cigarettes.
Drunk driving was cool.
I don't understand the point of this article.

That's it! Davis stays put! Girly men need only apply.

More than likely Arnies heart attack was due to a weak ticker, not steroids. The excesizes you do to get big, and the diets you go on, are not exactly the healthiest in the world and are fairly shy on the aerobic side.
There has alwasy been a lot of hypocrisy in the body building community around performance enhancers.

I hear McClintock and Bustamonte use caffeine. I mean, it just "sends the wrong message..."

It's awful, I tell you. Just awful!

Did he inhale them?

He likely wouldn't have done it. It took the death of Lyle Alzaedo (from brain cancer) to really wake up the sports world to the dangers of steroid use, and abuse.
