[history]
We've been knocking our heads trying to figure out how a minor and well-known story about an alleged CIA "outing" has suddenly blossomed into a Beltway scandal-ette. The light bulb went off reading Monday's White House press briefing.
Right out of the box, Helen Thomas asked if "the President tried to find out who outed the CIA agent? And has he fired anyone in the White House yet?" OK, the point of this exercise is to get President Bush to fire someone. But whom? That answer became clear when the press corps quickly uttered, and kept uttering for nearly an hour, the name "Karl Rove."

Said President Bush - "Yes Helen. I have fired all remaining Clinton political appointees."

Bingo. Another feeble attempt by the Libs to 'catch' GWB in some kind of cover-up. You'd think they would know a real scandal when they see one considering they had their nose up the butt of a walking scandal (and his Missus) for eight years!

You'd think they would know a real scandal when they see one considering they had their nose up the butt of a walking scandal (and his Missus) for eight years! Robert Torrecelli proved that the Democrats could care less about CIA operatives or those who leak their names to the press. This whole thing is about an attempt by Peloosey to get carte blanche on the President's and Rove's activities.

Ditto Chuckie Schumer who also didn't give a rat's rear about spooks and who now favors revealing the names of whistle-blowers.

We trust that Mr. Bush and Republicans on Capitol Hill understand that if they throw Mr. Rove over the side, the blood in the water will really be theirs. They dont sound sure about this.

Well, I don't want to be too arrogant, but this analysis looks very close to an analysis that I provided on another thread...
here.
My comment, "Actually, one could (rightly) argue that Mr. Wilson's op-ed in the NY Times was the first domino in the revelation to her identity. His very public claims were going to warrant a reaction from someone."
Seems quite close to: "The first "outing" here was the one Mr. Wilson did to himself by writing an op-ed in July for the New York Times."
My God, I might have actually made an astute commentary. YIPPEE!
Ok, sorry. Back into my humble shell.

I suspected some time ago that the Democrats were just bursting to have a reason to demand an "independent counsel" over something or other. They just needed to wait for the right issue. It appears that they think they have it now. And next? How long will it be before they begin to utter the infamous "impeach" nonsense?
To: Enterprise
How long will it be before they begin to utter the infamous "impeach" nonsense? They have been doing that already. demoCREEP activist George Soros has already called for President Bush's impeachement as a result of this. I will try to find the report. Rush talked about this yesterday.
