Tom McClintock continues his walk toward the California political graveyard. It is an unstoppable walk, almost suicidal in its dedication.
McClintock is my first choice as governor. He would make a great governor. Ronald Reagan would also make a great governor. Unfortunately, those of us who live in the real world of California politics, recognize that neither McClintock, the Gipper, nor the pornstar will be the next governor of California. We recognize that politics is the art of the possible. Although Bruce Herschenson's recent commercials are well done, they are no more than wishful thinking. I've met Bruce. He would have been a great senator, and he came very close.
So, what will happen to McClintock? Unfortunately, he has painted himself into a corner. He has said over and over that he will not drop out. If he drops out now, he will be seen as a liar. If he doesn't drop out and Bustamante is handed the governorship, he will never be forgiven by Republicans. He will be a political dead man walking. Even if Arnold pulls it out in a close 3-man race, the GOP has been hoping for a Terminator mandate. Such would make it easier for him to deal with the runaway RATS who have been destroying our state.
Yes, McClintock is principled. Yes, Arnold only supports some of my own agenda. But Bustamante supports none of my agenda. I guess I'll take someone with whom I have 70% agreement and can win, rather than someone with whom I have 95% agreement who cannot win. Face it, McClintock Kool-Aid drinkers -- he is a great man but he cannot win. Standing on principles is noble, however, if you get no place at the table, all it does it make you feel good that you did the right thing. With a RINO in power, at least we have some chance of influencing policy. Maybe we can even change his mind on some issues. We will never have any influence over the Mecha Man. He will continue to destroy our state.
Tom McClintock is self-terminating. May his political career rest in peace.

You do not say Arnold's KNOWN sexually deviant behavior is "sick", and for some reason choose not to believe there are other similar or worse incidents in his past, but you say it is "sick" to expose Arnold's bad behavior... How can you say the poster lacks a sense of "common decency", without questioning the "decency" of the candidate that (I assume) you support? What was your stance on Clinton's impeachment? I think YOU should be ashamed for having such obvious double standards

We'd love to hear your ex-wife's perspective...
To: Eowyn-of-Rohan
Look, Bozo.
A person's "SUPPOSED" deviant behavior does not make it okay to accuse him/her of attempted rape. There's no double standard here, but you're too stupid to understand that.
Why do you think the post was deleted?
Why don't you explain how this relates to what Bill Clinton did, Einstein.
To: Eowyn-of-Rohan
Anotherwords I must be lying. Typical.

Cute story. Keep thinking 15%. Keep thinking about Gray Davis or Mecha Man leading the state for 5 years.

I'm sorry, you misunderstood me. I'm not asking you to NOT VOTE for Arnold.
I was saying that I would not vote for him based on an incident I was told about several years ago while I saw with my own eyes another married leading actor trying to hook-up with a close female friend of mine during a Hollywood production. When she turned down this actor's repeated attempts to go party with him at the end of the day, she than told me about her encounter of about 10-years ago with Arnold.
Also the fact that I've seen with my own eyes several different women (willingly) being escorted by Arnold's assistants to wait inside Arnold's trailer on various sets, moments before Arnold also entered the same trailer alone, while we waited sometimes hours to set-up the next scene for shooting.
Again, I don't want to attack Arnold (or anyone else), but Arnold's sexist behavior is well known in the tight knit film industry.
Now, you have the LA Times (and Bob Mulholland) trying to exploit this election with some tales from a half dozen other women that Arnold may have sexually harrassed.
Please don't vote based on the LA Times, nor based on a comment I made on FR and buried in one of many discussion topics, since deleted.
And finally, if I never knew about my friends incident with Arnold, I would vote for him on the election day and pray for the best of luck on California's future.
In any case, I will still be praying for the ousting of Gray Davis and hoping to oust Barbara Boxer next.

Sorry, I wasn't there for the incident.
However, I was told about it by a close female friend several years ago while I saw with my own eyes another married leading actor trying to hook-up with her during a Hollywood production. When she turned down this other actor's repeated attempts to go party with him at the end of the day, she than told me about her previous encounter (circa early 90s) with Arnold, whom was also married at the time of the incident.

Did you notice that you post was pulled?
That should be a CLUE for you to shut up about that incident.
Unless you can prove it, stop talking about it.
Do you realize you could be SUED for that??????

I don't know you, but you don't present your comments in an offensive manner, so I'm going to respond in kind. Here is what I see in your post.
You stated, "Again, I don't want to attack Arnold (or anyone else), but Arnold's sexist behavior is well known in the tight knit film industry."
Not only does this statement alone provide an attack you say you don't want to make, but the other information you reveal is quite damning.
In light of this, why wouldn't you want to attack Arnold? You related to me an incident that supposedly took place with your friend and other actions that took place under your observation and reportedly impacted the working conditions of whole crews. Again, why wouldn't you want to take a person who did this stuff to task?
Your comments don't impress me as being reasonable, by way of seeming to avoid what would be a normal reaction, anger at the behavior of this man.
I strikes me that you have presented this information in a manner that is the least offensive you could so that it would be judged much more credible. In fact, it seems to me that you have gone so far overboard to do so, that normal human reactions have been sanitized out of it. This has resulted in me questioning if your accounts are real or not.
A sexual assault took place. While this married man entertained women in his trailer whole crews waited for hours. Still, you tell me you don't really want to attack him. Why not? My only reaction is that if these things had happened to my friend, or in my presence, I'd be more than happy to attack him.
Then you tell me that it's not your intent to keep me from voting for him. Does all this sound like a credible presentation to you?
To: Howlin
Sorry my comments upset you. The post which was only made once and buried within only this one article/topic, has been deleted.
I tried for weeks to not post my opinion on the Arnold/Tom debate because I am biased because of my perceived perception after witnessing some of his peculliar on the set behavior with women and because of the story my friend told me about casually years ago while I witnessed another married leading actor trying very hard to get her to go party with him.
I won't vote for Arnold because of what I saw with my own eyes in Hollywood and because of what my friend told me.
However, at this time, I agree Arnold may be the best Californian's will elect at this time, and I pray that he can help rebuild business opportunities in California.

Simi Valley and Ventura Co. have been ably represented for over 20 years by Elton Gallegly. I don't remember anything about "Bob Hope's son."

Clue: I don't care why you did it.
You make an accusation of a FELONY which you cannot possibly prove.
You better hope nobody on the AS campaign saw your remarks. Unless you can prove it, that's slander.
Do you think they can't find out who you are?

Ah, do you realize you've just shown yourself to be about as shallow as they come?
He's a horrible man, but he's good for CA? Please. Take your agenda somewhere else.

Sorry I was just responding back to those who responded to my original posts over the past 12+hours while I was at work. I have nothing else to say about the issue and I'm now glad my original post has been deleted.

"Maybe Arnold can find you a part in his next film..."I've already worked with Arnold on several films.
As Governor, Arnold won't be making any films for a few years.

damn, why do I miss all the fun?

Sorry, I wasn't there for the incident. Then you decided to post pure unsubstantiated gossip that accused Arnold of a serious crime and that says all about you that needs to be said.
Unfortunately, FR is not immuned to pretenders and frauds. I think you might be just such a person.
At best your judgment is very poor.
At worst you are a storyteller that thinks you are impressing people.
Either description isn't becoming. Maybe you need to rethink your habits.
