Reminds me of when Bernie was sent to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to manage a department store, getting word of the transfer on a Monday and flying there the same day. I figured he would find a house speedily and gave notice at work, saying I would work through Wednesday of the next week.
He located one on Friday and found movers had to come up to Ft. Pierce, Florida from West Palm Beach, packing one day and loading the next.
I replied to send them the Thursday of the next week to load only - that I would have everything packed and ready to go. They countered with they would not be responsible for breakage, then, and every item must be in a box except for obvious things like the washer, dryer, table, sofa, etc. Had to put all cushions and lampshades, etc. in cartons, and seal them all.
Here was The Crunch - it was January 1972 at the height of a nationwide genuine paper shortage, including cartons, where we fought for even single rolls of toilet paper.
My ace was working for a retailer and he did, too - loaded box after box in my little trusty Pinto, that we had because of The Gas Crisis - LOL
(I mastered in Real Life Crisis Management...:))
All alone except for Jennifer, then 11, I worked full-time through that next Wednesday - packed every single thing and thoroughly cleaned the rented house - and was ready for the mover on the day after I stopped working.
Jennifer and I and Tuffy the Cat drove by ourselves to North Carolina. Had told Bernie there wouldn't be anywhere for him to sit if he flew down to 'help,' and that was literally true!
I broke up the trip, spending the night in St. Augustine - then the next with my sister in South Carolina - and then on to North Carolina.
It must have been terrible for you to be so far pregnant and had to manage. What I didn't know was I had developed diabetes, attibuting the fatigue to the move, and the thirst for the "wonderful water in NC," drinking a lot of it - learned that three weeks later when some elective minor surgery had to be postponed after pre-op tests confirmed it.
At least, though, we didn't have to load up Conestoga wagons and head West, cooking and cleaning on the trail for months after endless months...:))

It is getting late here on the East Coast, and I do believe I will sign off early.
Know your nights are cool, too; ours into the 40's at night - 70's by day.
Nice to have windows open.
Good night to you, Aqua, and everyone - - -

Could have used you for consult during our 'Rural Tour'. At least I know the experience now if my kids need consult after they have grown. Maybe that is why things happen the way they do?
>>>we fought for even single rolls of toilet paper.
Now that is a necessity I will never compromise on. I don't even want to know what the alternatives are. (funny side note...when the troups were first sent to Afghanistan, word got back that they were short on this item. I organized a few cases that way. I know it didn't supply everyone...but that bugged me the most)
>>>It must have been terrible for you to be so far pregnant and had to manage.
I did it though. I didn't know I could do it then. But I did it.
>>>What I didn't know was I had developed diabetes, attibuting the fatigue to the move, and the thirst for the "wonderful water in NC," drinking a lot of it - learned that three weeks later when some elective minor surgery had to be postponed after pre-op tests confirmed it.
AND you did it too! BTW, there is nothing wonderful about NC's water. At least not while I was in the Albemarle.
>>>At least, though, we didn't have to load up Conestoga wagons and head West, cooking and cleaning on the trail for months after endless months...:))
Call me weird; but I would actually jump at the chance to do that even just once. We did the Pioneer Days a few months ago at our bookclub. Ironically it coincided with Lori's post on Pioneers (and I printed her post and used it during our club meeting. There were tidbits that went along nicely with our overview). I would actually take a wagon ride west to know that experience. Except, I would bring lots and lots of toilet paper. I don't need to know that experience!
