I thought Puin's comment was strange as well. And NO ONE in the media has picked up on it! I find that telling, too.
Who contacted Putin? I would really like to know!
To: JustAnAmerican
The one good thing about all of this is that the Muslim sympathizers are being shown for what they are, ignorant, anti-American or both.
My thoughts too. One good thing to come out of this Guantanamo scandal with multiple traitors.

Hang on, I will go get it for you.
To: katykelly
He said that he was in talks with ???? after 9/11/01 about opposing US in going into Afghanistan.
Now why he felt the need to say this publicly and with President Bush there beside him is strange. He was sending a message to somebody, WHO I don't know but he didn't need to do it publicly, could have made a phone call or send a letter.
To: katykelly
Here is what Putin said at the press confeence at Camp David:
This had very practical results, including in such sensitive areas as combatting terrorism. I have never said this in public, I'm going to do it today. When counterterrorist operation began in Afghanistan, we were approached by people, through several channels, we were approached by people who intended to fight against Americans in Afghanistan. And if by that time President Bush and I had not formed appropriate relationship, as we have, so no one knows what turn would the developments in Afghanistan had taken. You know what was Russia's position, and it helped, to a great extent, to achieve further results that we have achieved in Afghanistan, and was for a very good purpose.
Now, who contacted Putin? And whoever it was, they now know that he has probably told Bush, given that this was said in the middle of the press conference.
Interestingly, President Bush made no comment on this, but simply let it hang there. Even MORE interesting, the press has ignored it? Wouldn't you think they would like to know? I certainly want to know!
Was it a nation, a terrorist group, or certain individuals?

It's not racial profiling. It's jihad detection. Doesn't matter what color they are.

The public comment is the most interesting part. Obviously, he wanted the message in public. It is posted on the White House web site in the transcript of the news conference.
Something very mysterious here, IMHO.

I agree, we need to put Arabic on the critical language list if it isn't already.

Are any of these "translators" and "chaplains" on our side?
It sounds negative, but from what I've learned of Islam since 9-11...
the only allegiance of a truly observant Muslim (following the Koran, Hadith, and
other Islamic writings) is to Islam.
And for the Muslim, Islam is the State AND Religion, indivisible.
The Muslim population should be getting the message with a few of these arrests.
We might let you come here and live peaceably.
But we won't let you f--- with us like Osama and Saddam thought they could with impunity.

Do you mean you didn't know ?

Sometimes I sit and watch the idiots ask questions that have already been answered, no follow-up.
To me there is little doubt that President Bush knows who contacted Mr. Putin. These people know very well what they are willing to say publicly standing together and President Bush hasn't nor anyone else responded to what Putin was referencing with those words.
I actually saw Putin's words as a mixed message. He also wanted the US to sign a "non-aggression pact" with N. Korea and who became the N. Korean foster parent when Russia went belly up? bjclinton and the US taxpayers. You know about the same time algore sent all that money to "Boris".

In Cambridge there was agitation to allow legal non-citizens to vote in local elections.
Shari'a Law in Cambridge by popular vote? Might be a good deal...would scare the crap out
the rest of the USA and get us to really clamp down on Muslim immigration.
But...I'd be afraid that any state/city that embraces liberal Democratic politics
is probably going to find some redeeming value in living under Shari'a.

To the degree it really was random is the same degree we're behind the 8-ball in uncovering the full infestation.

You can turn out analysts in 6 months who can read websites and email, translate articles etc but to have someone who can walk right into terrorland and appear to be a native, you gotta have someone who was born and raised in terrorland.

The military and the political correct crowd in the military are getting a wake up call! The call may be made, but the liberal PC crowd has long since put themselves on the do-not-call list.

Now, here is a scary thought. What if the terrorists were to hook up with a guy like Castro, try to overrun Gitmo and use Cuba as a launching site for an attack on the U.S.?
I'd guess the Cuban Regulars would think going up against Marines was the scary thought. ;) Also, we could be pounding Cuba with artillery within an hour.

NewsCenter 5's Gail Huff reported that the man, identifed as Ahmed Mahaba, was returning from Egypt Monday morning when D'OH!
Anyone with an understanding more than a milimeter thick, of Islam, would have avoided this problem.
I simply assumed that my government knew at least as much as I do.
I guess I was wrong.
The wonder of it all is that we managed to win the main battles in spite of their having their heads up their butt.
Islam is a system. A colony. Until historically recently, the concept of countries did not exist in Islam.
The traditional and unchanging loyalties are to clan, tribe, group and Islam. Period. It's not a big secret and I am looking at dozens of books in my library which are unanimous on this point, all written between 1900 and the present. Nothing has changed, except they have more financial resources and more intense rage.
That makes the "let's reason with them" approach pathetic.
And the "let's win their hearts and minds", suicidal.
Yeah. Let's use locals and imported muslims as translators. That's the ticket.
99.9% of them are peaceful and harmless.
Right?
Right?
