[history]
In July I was interviewing a senior administration official on Ambassador Wilson's report when he told the trip was inspired by his wife, a CIA employee working on weapons of mass destruction. Another senior official told me the same thing. As a professional journalist with 46 years experience in Washington I do not reveal confidential sources. When I called the CIA in July to confirm Mrs. Wilson's involvement in the mission for her husband -- he is a former Clitnon administration official -- they asked me not to use her name, but never indicated it would endanger her or anybody else. According to a confidential source at the CIA, Mrs. Wilson was an analyst, not a spy, not a covert operator, and not in charge of an undercover operatives...

Mr. Wilson is now saying (on C-SPAN this morning, for example) that he opposed military action in Iraq because he didn't believe Saddam had weapons of mass destruction and he foresaw the possibility of a difficult occupation. In fact, prior to the U.S. invasion, Mr. Wilson told ABC's Dave Marash that if American troops were sent into Iraq, Saddam might "use a biological weapon in a battle that we might have. For example, if we're taking Baghdad or we're trying to take, in ground-to-ground, hand-to-hand combat." He doesn't have WMD but he's gonna use WMD??? Am I missing something here?

Tell us more about Wilson on MSNBC. Did he again blame Rove?

Very sneaky. Buchanan asked him if his wife was covert or an analyst. He wouldn't say. Would just say that the penalties for exposing a covert iare serious.
Wilson would not offer any opinion on what Novack is now saying when shown the video of his statement.
Says if a crime was committed, Novak is not the criminal but the leaker is.
Wilson says we should stay in Iraq despite the obstacles that the White House has put in the way. Press and Buchanan ate up every vomitous word.

Someone should start a thread on the media about this.
Who reported accurately. Who continues lying.
So far, ABC and PRS are lying.

...think I'll watch an old musical, HGTV, Food Network, or the Weather Channel!!

Wilson said that we have to stay the course in Iraq "despite the obstacles that the WH put in the way." What else is disgusting is that Buchanan is giving the guy a pass and actually sympathizing with Wilson's claim that his wife was harmed.

Wilson was indeed concerned Saddam would use WMD against our soldiers. Then started saying he doesn't have WMD.
He's a Flipper - just like Clark.
Makes me wonder if the Clinton's are pulling ALL the strings?

I'm not sure you're interpreting Putin properly. What he said is "I took the high road".

He gave it away, to anyone who cared to read his words. This was a brilliant givaway, and it is going to make the Rats eat their words very shortly.
If it was an ADMINISTRATION official, but NOT a Bush Administration official, then just what administration was Novak talking about?
A CLINTON ADMINISTRATION OFFICIAL.
Novak reveled his source without 'revealing' it. This was a slime job that is going to backfire bigtime.

If the matter has been in DOJ hands since July what is responsible for the press attention in the last few days? Where were the Dems on this issue between now and then or are they simply responding to the DOJ's movement to investigate? If it's this the Dems are even more foolish than I could hope.

Wilson is running for the hills on MSNBC, blaming Novak. "OMG, he just referred to himself as a dis-interested spectator in this matter." Is there a way to get a transcript of this?

1. You think that Novak was actually baiting the media? Is there anything thst might confirm that it was indeed someone from the Clinton administration?
2. Is Limbaugh friendly with Novak? Mighg this be the big secret that Rush knows?
3. It is possible that they are taking advantage of the Democrat (and media) frenzy to grab onto anything they can exploit. Could they have been set up?
To: cwboelter
Wow, Oliphant is on now saying Bob Novak was wrong to print her name. That Novak didn't fully investigate the story. Press and Buchanan are going nuts.
