As much as I admire him..........and I admire him a LOT...........McClintock should pull out, endorse Arnold, help him get elected......and then get the support of the Party for a run at the Senate. Anything else would be political suicide for him, IMHO.

As much as I admire him..........and I admire him a LOT...McClintock should pull out, endorse Arnold, help him get elected..I'm starting to lean in that direction. I usually avoid these threads because I'm not a resident of California, but here in NY, the best we could do was Pataki. In liberal states, you sometimes have to take what you can get.

Tom has already sewn up 25 to 35% of his vote at this point by absentee ballot. He'll sew up another 25 to 35% of it on election day no matter what, now that he's waited this long to withdraw. With each passing day Tom means less and less to anyone but the cool-aid sipping sect. He's done his damage, now we'll deal with it.
This man will NEVER get a primary vote from me.

That's the best end for everyone involved not named Davis, Boxer or Bustamonte. However, the California GOP reminds me more and more of The Roman Empire in the 5th Century AD. They have candidates who could really give the Dems a run out there and basically sink the Dems' hopes of recapturing either elected branch of governemnt by making the Dems dump the treasury in holding the Senate seat and the 54 EVs. Instead, if FR is an accurate indication, these Hatfields and McCoys would rather devour eachother's best leadership.

.....McClintock should pull out.....
Me thinks this post is an indication that he did pullout.
He has it both ways. The truly committed conservatives can vote for him and those who don't want to lose their vote can cast one for Arnold. Every body gets to come out and vote for recall and Aarnold wins.
No one loses face.

everyone who says Tom McClintock should pull out is forgetting that a good percentage of his supporters would then just stay home which could doom the first question on the ballot. I think Arnold Schwarzennegger can pull it out on his own, but the GOP should not have endorsed anyone in this.
