BOMBERS KILL US SOLDIER

An American soldier has been killed and another wounded in a bomb attack on a convoy near the town of Fallujah, west of Baghdad.

It comes after six US soldiers were wounded in a bomb explosion in Fallujah on Sunday.

A US military spokesman said they were part of a convoy from the 82nd Airborne Division which was hit by an "improvised explosive device".

The area has been the scene of persistent attacks against US-led coalition forces.

It is part of a Sunni Muslim tribal belt with allegiances to ousted president Saddam Hussein.

Some of the injured soldiers were treated by first aiders, the rest were taken to a nearby hospital.

They were said to be in a stable condition.

Elsewhere, US forces killed a 10-year-old Iraqi child and wounded a man when they opened fire on hundreds of protesters.

The troops began firing when the demonstrators pelted them with stones.

It happened in the town of Hawija, west of Kirkuk.

Doctors said the man, who was 25, was hit in the heart.

The protest involved around 500 people who were carrying portraits of ousted Iraqi president Saddam Hussein.

Good. Pax Britannica was brought about in savage lands by Gatling guns manned by steadfast troops willing to use them.

The moral of this story is two parts; 1) Don't bring rocks to a gun fight and 2) We are not the IDF and we don't put up with that crap. If you want to protest peacefully, go right ahead, we won't stop you. As a matter of fact, if your opinion is unpopular, we will protect you while you express it.

The mosques in Fallujah need to be closed now. I think that those who are fighting our forces are getting their marching orders on Friday morning when the adult males congregate at the mosques for prayers.

Tell the town the mosques stay closed until the attacks stop. Send the Iraqi police in to search the place also.

Anywhere that sanctuary is given, the enemy will exploit that place. We need to wise up.

How can people be so ignorant as to make their children part of these demonstrations. These parents simply don't care enough. It's the same tactics as Hamas.
