Bruce Herschensohn does ad for Tom McClintock
California Republican Assembly ^ | Sept. 27, 03 | California Republican Assembly

Posted on 09/27/2003 12:40:33 PM PDT by churchillbuff

I just heard a GREAT radio ad supporting Tom McClintock for Governor. It was Bruce Herschensohn - - California's MR. CONSERVATIVE -- speaking from the heart. An announcement said it was co-sponsored by California Republican Assemply, so I went to their web site - - and here's the official announcement of the Herschensohn ad:

CRA LAUNCHES RADIO CAMPAIGN TO SUPPORT TOM MCCLINTOCK FOR GOVERNOR The California Republican Assembly announced today that it was beginning a radio campaign urging support for Tom McClintock in the recall election October 7th. Bruce Herschensohn speaks candidly with listeners in the 60 second spot confronting the argument that although McClintock is the best candidate, he can’t win.

“If everyone who has said that would vote for him he’d win by a landslide,” Herschensohn says. The spot concludes with an appeal from Herschensohn: “If you think he’s the most qualified candidate, support him. At this point, it doesn’t depend on him, it depends on you.”

Arnold is a run of the mill pro-abort. My head is not in the sand. Sorry about yours.

Arnie never said that, Kev, so are you dense, or acting like am automaton repeating falsehoods out of spite?

Have you sunk so low you have to resort to wilful lying to make your point?

Why must conservatives always compromise their principles? It makes better sense for bend-with-the-wind, middle-of-the-road moderates to compromise and go with the conservatives who stake their positions guided by a strong moral compass. It takes an amazing amount of ego and narcissism for (R)nold to think he deserves to run California. He should do one for the team and use his celebrity to campaign for McClintock, but he won't because that isn't his role. His role is to block a real conservative and protect liberalism in Cali. Way to be manipulated, stooges Arnold supporters.

When you elect cruz and figure out it is time bail on CA,
for G-d's sake don't bring your type of suicidal politics to AZ. We have enough of a problem here already without dealing with more California psychos.

I'm sorry, but you are wrong. At least one person who is a position to actually "write" these Regulations has said to me...

"You'll be suprised how long it's going to take us to get these things issued." I didn't press him on whether he meant the Regs or the Licenses.

I could go into detail about the logistics involved here, but I can't. Let's just say that the DMV doesn't have the manpower to do this.

I'm actually surprised at the broohaha. The used to be no citizenship requirements for the issuance of a CA DL, anyway. I guess the threat of terrorism has had an effect on some of us.

In fact, it used to be that the tourists (especially Germans) would get a CA DL as a trophy on their vacation here...and to save the $5,000 it costs to get a DL in Germany!

Regulations were written for the Gun Registration deal I mentioned above, no one enforced them.

Of course, if enough people vote for Tom, the point is moot, becasue Croozzze-free-stuff-for-everybody Bustamove will set up a CA DMV in TJ...for the children, dontcha know...

"An Oh so liberal neigborhood seems like a natural for Arnold's signs since he is liberal on every issue that counts: babies, Lavenders, guns, spending, taxes and affirmative action."

Then he should win handily. However, my neighbors beg to differ. In fact, one of them is voting for Tom as an Anti-Cruz-Anti-Ahronld. He's the one that flies the UN flag in ANSWER (pun intended) to my Stars and Stripes, which after a Decade or so of Croooze will be struck and replaced with...

Arnold opposes partial birth abortion, and favors parental consent. These are two steps in the right direction, and are the most hotly contested abortion issues of the day. This insistent head-in-the-sand blathering that Arnold is a run-of-the-abortionmill pro-abort is a blatant lie.

Blatant lie?! Not even close.

When you take away the small numbers of PBA`s that take place in America today (2,200 in the year 2000), Arnie still supports 99.999% of all abortions that are preformed annually in the USA. That means Arnie supports abortion on demand. Besides its easy for Arnie to go along with opposing PBA`s and supporting parental consent. The vast majority of American's hold the same opinions. Even a novice politico like Arnie understands the math on those two issues.

re#8

too true, Cicero, and they even forced Simon to take on and pay the favorite DC consultants whose advice was the
biggest problem in Simon's "bad campaign"...

Parsky intends to orchestrate the death of the conservative part of the CA GOP and by starving a the media reply to the $80 Million Davis attack, doomed the
turn out by convincing too many Republicans that Simon
didn't deserve their time and vote, which besides the non funding of McClintock's run, more than killed his election since he got so much crossover, he lost by less than the
CA fraud numbers = 17,000 votes.

Davis may be counting on the fraud at the polls this time himself... the Kern Co. investigation done by the Bakersfield California estimate that in one area, interviews uncovered roughly 1700 tainted ballots in a 2400 voter pool... but the public continues to snooze.

Ol' Yellowstain McQueeg showed up at the debate, and despite everything he says about Schwarzenegger outside his presence, and despite his every effort to tank this thing now, held his fire in the physical presence of Schwarzenegger. Why did he do that?

My answer is really unflattering to ol' Yellowstain - he was intimidated to do it in the presence of a man of physical stature and confident personality. He is like every pansy-assed ivory tower intellectual with a big mouth - he is afraid to do it where somebody just may bite him back.

"That means Arnie supports abortion on demand"

As do most Californians. I don't, but I'm voting for Ahrnold. Why? Because he can win. And in winning has a shot a fixing the State's financial problems. Tom can't win, period. If he had a remote chance, he destroyed it by being openly Pro-life in the last debate. It the "third rail" out here.

Tell me what the CA State Governor can do anyway? Even if Roe v. Wade is overturned (Please, God), the issue returns to the States, and CA will be an Abortion State, at least until we can change some minds and souls out here. Until then, people will just dress up like refugees from a Star-Trek convention, stand in front of the "mills" and yell at women going to murder their babies. And pissing me off as I have to hide it from my kids. In fact, if you want to change some hearts and minds, out here, pass a law where any prospective abortionette has to physically hold a baby and spend some time with a Mother and Child, just talking.

In a perfect word Tom would be Governor. It isn't a perfect world, it's California. If you vote for Tom, you help elect Cruz, if you elect Cruz, you will be moving out of CA, as I plan to do.

Moving is an option you know.

You have to hand to the Socialists, they know what they are playing for and they will do anything to get it...They took the single-issue Conservatives and are masterfully playing them off Moderate and Liberal Republicans, and we're falling for it, just brillant.

Watch the Absentee Count...Illegal's been using it for years, with help, of course.

Costco has a Kosher Dog with my name on it. I'd love to continue to chat but...

Tom is in a bind, as he'll get lynched by his supporters if he acts like a good Pubby, so the 64k question is :Is McClintock more afraid of his base or Arnie??

The guy better hope the casinos REALLY come through with that lobbyist job ;-)

No, regardless of who's elected governor, the license law is gone if there's a referendum. That's the one way that's guaranteed to 86 it. For some reason, Arnold won't help. (to me, it shows he's a phoney, or spineless - and suggests he'll be a weak governor who won't have the courage to tackle sacred cows or upset the politically correct) THAT'S WHY I'M VOTING MCCLINTOCK

With all due respect, instead of whining and complaining to me, go out and make a difference.

Arnie's election does nothing to advance the conservative agenda or the GOP party platform. The California GOP has been screwed up for years. Now they've squandered a unqiue opportunity to unite behind a traditonal conservative Republican candidate and maybe pull out a victory. The California GOP has failed, once again. And don't blame McClintock for all you sellouts, who've surrendered principles and convictions, in order to elect a liberal. California's not called the leftcoast for nothing.

If you ever expect to turn things around out there, you shouldn't be supporting Arnie for governor. Conservative Bill Simon barely lost to Boy Davis and Tom McClintock was the top GOP vote getter in the nation on election day 2002!

Wake up guys and get with the program.

The Pechangas are also helping McClintock, giving $76,000 to the California Republican Assembly -- a conservative group that has endorsed him -- as well as $49,000 to Tax Fighters for Tom McClintock.

God bless 'em!

I think old Hersch better get checked for Alzheimer's.

That's the kind of slur I'd expect on Democrat Underground -- it's the way the Left talked about Reagan even before he had the disease. Interesting how supporting Arnold seems to bring some former conservatives down to the slimey level of liberals. This is my concern, that an Arnold governorship would have the same corrosive effect on the Republican Party, wearing away its principles and making it a pale reflection of Democrats
