Being from NC, I can't wait for Gov. Cruz and the Ca. GOP fight after the election, it is going to be great!

I heard it too.

My only regret was that Sean "let your heart not be troubled" Hannity wasn't there to hear it.

His "eye flutter rate" would have been one for the record books... ;)

He also stated McClintock should essentially bow out, and described a scenario in which that could be accomplished without breaking his promise. He said McClintock should "release" his supporters. That wasn't the exact word he used, but that was the gist of it.

I always think Sean's funny when he tells young women not to date liberals because "they might contaminate you." But, I guess the same doesn't apply to his view of choosing candidates to support. Maybe we're just too far away, but he doesn't seem to like our conservative choices. (Simon in 02 and McClintock in 03)

McClintock's supporters are free to vote however they like. We all get the news surveys, and we can evaluate the conditions on election day. McClintock pretty much said voters are smart enough to vote without the candidates telling them how to vote -- that is, if Bustamante is leading slightly, McClintock's supporters are smart enough to help the leading Republican.

But, I always have the same problem at elections: with millions of other voters in CA, my vote for governor, and even the votes of my friends and family, won't make a dent in the total numbers. Even if all the McClintock-supporting Freepers and lurkers voted for Schwarzenegger, it wouldn't make any difference.

It's never wrong to stand for what you believe. Some folks know they can only live with being true to themselves. They may stand like defiant warriors, outnumbered on a windswept hill, but courage carries an honor more lasting and valuable than the successful outcome of one battle.

Unless we have another Florida this year...

And I don't really buy your thesis totally. There is a certain "100th Monkey" syndrome to voting behavior. Freepers represent the most hardcore of hardcore conservatives. Will any of the McClintock supporters on here flip by election day? If they do, that would probably be indicative of a statewide trend.

The closest election I've ever voted in was the 2002 Controller's race. Do you think this election will have results that are so tight?

I'm sure some will. There are many non-vocal supporters on each side on FR. There are also some who definitely won't switch their support.

I just don't see much difference in how I vote. In a statewide election, the results are very unlikely to be only a few votes apart.

McClintock supporters aren't going to flip. Otherwise they wouldn't be McClintock supporters!
