FREEP GOPUSA.COM! RINOs trying to rig Illinois Senate Poll

Heads up, Freepers!!

I just received an email informing me that RINOs and party country-clubbers are trying to rig the GOPUSA Senate poll for Jack Ryan in Illinois. He's the most "moderate" candidate in the race and is pretty evasive on 2nd amendment, pro-life, etc. John Borling, the only unabashed pro "choice" candidate, is also doing great in the GOP USA poll.

Let's FREEP this poll for a conservative! Dr. Kathuria is the only candidate so far who's come out in favor of conceal-carry, and is also solidly conservative on the rest of the issues like ANWR, judicial nominees, pro-life, cutting taxes, etc. He's also anti-establishment.

Following this link:

http://www.gopusa.com/illinois/

The poll is down on the right-hand side of the screen.

TOPICS: Culture/Society; Free Republic; Government; Miscellaneous; Politics/Elections; US: Illinois
KEYWORDS: 2004; illinois; kathuria; ryan; senate
STOP JACK RYAN!

I'd vote for him in the general, but I will NOT have the RINOs try to crown him "front runner" before we have the March election!

Wow, cool! It's a three-way race now. Jack Ryan's still ahead though.

Another Ryan (or is it the same guy who lost)? How many Ryans are the Republicans going to run, esecially after the last one in office disgraced the GOP, losing to a far-left looney, and allwoing several murderers to escape the death penalty! What a disgrace. I'm sure many good folks from Ill won't be able to tell the difference, just like last election...

I voted for the good doctor, even though his name looks Indo-Pak, he or she supports RKBA.

What does ANWR mean?

I dont think Kathuria is an established politician and with a name like that (he's Indian Sikh), it'll be a harder sell.

Who's the most conservative candidate who's also held office before?

Is there something wrong with being a member of a country club?

I think I've answered my own question - I'd go for Rauschenberger unless he's a non-conservative:

http://www.suntimes.com/output/neal/cst-edt-neal19.html

The warning I'd have for the millionaires is that they might have weak campaigns if its first time on the race track.
But its great to have so many candidates trying for it.

JMHO.

I was in a hurry last nite to stop the Jack Ryan crowd and didn't have time to address alot of your points. To answer your spectualation:

Yes, Dr. Kathuria is of Indian decent. His name fools a lot of people though. Dr. K has lived in Illinois since he was eight months old. He doesn't have an accent or anything. His family is throughly American. His mother is a physician and worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Hines, Illinois for over 30 years and his father worked for New York Life Insurance for 25 years. He graduated Valedictorian of Downers Grove High School in IL. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in U.S. Health Care Policy and Administration and a Master's in Business Administration from Stanford U. He also earned a Doctorate in Medicine (M.D.) from Brown University. He works with Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking operations in India.

He doesn't have any ELECTED experience but he has plenty of work in government he can point too. He's done a ton of work for the Dept. of Health and was ambassador to India, etc. He even worked with international governments, he was te head consultant to the Swedish Government (Swedish Planning and Rationalization Institute of Health & Social Service) and helped devise a plan to restructure primary health care in Sweden based on the U.S. Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) model. The guy is also an extremely successful buisnessman who owns about 8 buisnesses and has a net worth of like $60 million or something. One of his companies took care of the negotiating and planning to put the first civilian (Dennis Tito) in space.

His website says: "Dr. Chirinjeev Kathuria, M.D.,M.B.A. has measurable success in building businesses and has done government work that impacts world economies and shift business models. Dr. Kathuria has co-founded and helped build many businesses which have generated considerable shareholder wealth and jobs. Dr. Kathuria and affiliated companies have been featured in many TV shows and media publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, The Economist, New York Times Magazine, Chicago Sun-Times, CNN, The Today Show, BBC, etc."

The most conservative ELECTED official in the race is indeed State Senator Steve Rauchsenburger (R-Elgin) Steve Rauschy's a great guy, On the Illinois message boards, consevatives seem to be torn between Dr. K. and Steve. Unfortunately, he's not going anywhere in the polls and his campaign manager recently quit, rumors are he might drop out of the race. He meet with Dr. K. the other day and seemed to be pretty enthuestic though. The one issue they really need to work on is that he was chairman of the Senate Finace Committee when Govenor Lyin' George Ryan passed the biggest tax hike in history. Steve voted AGAINST it, but stupid voters will associate him with it anyway since it passed out of his committee. He really needs to explain what happened. The other problem is he tends to be very dull and uncharismatic (though he has been working on that, shaving his beard and joking alot) Dr. K. is naturally charismatic though. People picture "Abu" from the Simpson when he hear his name but then discover him to be much more like Rick Santorum or Ronald Reagan when they hear him TALK.

There are other conservatives too, like Johnathan Wright, but let's face it, those guys have no money and no background so they won't be a factor. Borling's the further left on abortion, Jack Ryan's the most "moderate" all over. Oberweis keeps flip-flopping. I'd take any of them over a RAT, but for conservatives it really boils down to Kathuria or Rauschy in the primary.

I'm leaning towards Kathuria, so I posted this in a hurry last night and made sure freepers pushed the polls for one guy so we didn't split our vote against Ryan. It seems to have worked too well, though, he's ahead by a mile now!

Thanks for a good explanation. I am pleased to see good conservative candidates for Illinois senate race. Pundits are saying its a good dem pickup hope and I just hope we can squash that.

Since it is a swing state, I do fear a candidate who cant win. whoever you pick, pick someone who will win in nov. good news is the primary is in march so there is plenty of time for the winner to campaign.

Also - you should also disbar the name Ryan from the ballot for at least 4 more years!

I see another GREAT headline tonight: Thune wants to take on Dashcle!!!

>> I wish Judy Baar-Topinka would run. <<

You're kidding me right? Either that or you're not from Illinois. Judy barely won her first two terms for state treasurer. The only reason she's treasurer now when the state party got wiped out is she made a bunch of backroom deals with Democrats and endorsed a bunch of their members in exchange for "cross-over" support. She's currently under fire as Chairman for having state workers do her campaign work on company time. Her tenure as Chairman has resulted in the Republicans losing yet MORE ground to the Dems in the 2003 local elections.

And this isn't even getting into the fact that she's pro "choice", pro-gay unions, loved George Ryan's tax hikes, is personally endorsed by ol' George, etc. etc. We might as well run Lincoln Chaffee for the post.
