The invidious comparison between the dress uniform and the flight suit says all you need to know about their desperation to keep that
USS Abraham Lincoln photo off the campaign commercials.
And unfortunately for the Democrats, the picture has the scale of Bush and Clark utterly inverted. Not that Bush would need to point that out . . .

And, of the 100,000 folks reading this posting this morning who are also drinking coffeee, not more than 10 are drinking coffee made in a percolator. Of those ten, 9 are over age 90 and 8 of them have hated Joe DiMaggio for 50 years or more. Except for those in VA who are still sitting in the dark thanks to Isabel while their coffee pot percolates on the side burner of the gas grill...as mine did until yesterday.

Isn't Judy Mrs. Alan Greenspan? (I can't keep my DC power couples straight.) I probably shouldn't say this but Alan has the look of someone who hasn't had sex in decades. Small wonder.

Mrs Greenspan is Andrea Mitchell of NBC News..... I believe Woodruff is Mrs Al Hunt (of the Wall Street Journal).

From Arkansas, Bill went on to Washington; his successor as governor, Jim Guy Tucker, went on to jail. Jim Guy Tucker was convicted and resigned from office - but he did not go to jail.

She's married to Al Hunt, but one never sees them together. Hmmmm. Are they one and the same?

Al Hunt and Judy Woodruff = two people who really deserve one another. Let's pray that they don't reproduce.
See, I told you that I can't keep my DC power couples straight. :-)

I agree. If the Democrats would have done the right thing (yeah, I know that is asking a lot), Gore would have replaced Clinton, and as close as the election was, he would have won.
My theory is that the Clintons sold their souls to the devil and they were protected, but like a lot of deals, everyone around them loses.

Too late. They have at least two kids.

If I were a Democrat, my main priority for the party would be to get the car keys back from Bill Clinton.

If the Democrats would have done the right thing (yeah, I know that is asking a lot), Gore would have replaced Clinton, and as close as the election was, he would have won.Yes, Gore would have finished Clinton's second term and still be eligible for two full terms of his own, for a total of almost 10 years in the White House.
On the other hand, if the Conservatives would have reelected Bush in '92, the Clintons would be back in Arkansas and all this would be moot.

Judy Woodruff looked as if she wanted to do her Meg Ryan When Harry Met Sally impression: Yes, yes! Oh, God!! Yes!!! Aaaooooowwwwaaaooah!!!! A visual I just did NOT need.
Appropriate, though. Like Sally, what was going on was not what it appeared.
