There is definitely some sort of "disconnect" going on in Tom's brain.

You and me both Cheney Chick! Wow, I can't believe that if the polls show he can't win, he would do this! I would expect Arnold to drop out too if Tom is ahead. What is the matter with these people? All of that work to get the recall certified and the republicans self destruct because of ego?

Some rabid TomBot female called into Sean's show yesterday. He actually let her harrange for 20 minutes. She couldn't brow beat him into endorsing Tom instead of Arnold. A lot of frustrated pent up Tom supporters out there.

What an incomprehensible idiot the guy is. He reminds me of a cross between Jimmy Carter and Al Gore - a detail guy who believes that he will turn into a government fairy who can wave a magic wand and make every aspect of his program happen. Of course, in his fantasy, the government fairy never has to convince an indifferent or hostile legislature and citizenry that such actions are needed, he never has to worry about the unexpected, there never needs to be contingency planning for the possibility that a plan may not work as intended, nor does the government fairy ever have to consider that he is governor over all citizens and not just the ones who voted for him.

"If Tom McClintoxin is so smart why can't he see what we all see.....that if he stays in the dems win? "

==

He does know that. He wants Bustamante to win.

"Burton, one of the more conservative members of Congress, also said McClintock had seemed to suggest that it would be acceptable for a Democrat to hold the governor's office, because he might create a clamor for a Republican in 2006.

He said McClintock had drawn a historical parallel to the 1980 presidential election, when Republican Ronald Reagan defeated Jimmy Carter, en route to a two-term presidency.

"I was saying I hated to see the Democrats and especially Gray Davis keep control, and Bustamante may want to give California back to Mexico — I said that tongue in cheek," Burton said, referring to the incumbent Davis and to Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante. "And he said we had four years of Jimmy Carter and eight years of Ronald Reagan and that was a fair exchange. And the implication was maybe that leaving the Democrats in would show that they can't govern properly."
