From what I've heard, Clark was disliked enough by his classmates that if there was even a hint of his having violated the honor code, he'd have been brought up on charges. So, I don't think that dog will hunt.

I am forced to agree with you concerning his conduct at the Academy, for exactly the same reason... he would have been crushed.

I still get the impression that there's a really nasty skeleton in his Balkan closet... too many military guys I know, senior and otherwise, have a serious disdain for Clark. It's way more than politics... there's an odor of dishonor associated with him, and I just can't figure out why that is.

One thing is for sure. He is neither beloved nor respected.

More here. The son of a good friend of my father's was there at the same time. He can't STAND the man - and this is a straight-ahead, quiet, by-the-book Army officer.

He didn't/wouldn't give any specifics, just made a face like he smelled something bad.

I wish my father in law was still alive. He was a retired bird colonel, was at the Pentagon for years, and he knew EVERYBODY. . . . he was a WWII "mustang" - promoted from the ranks - and VERY outspoken. Something more here than just politics.

One thing that is such an honor about having served in the military is the commaraderie you always have with those who have served. That commaraderie even transcends generations. Though military life is hard and some don't like it as they go through it, pride and purpose always prevail. They don't remember what was bad years later, they remember their friends. It is even more at West Point. Clark must have been lonely then and I guarantee he is lonely now.

Relationships are only all we have. Sad for Wes.

I have the same sense you do, that there's something pretty bad lurking there in the Balkan cesspool. I also can't figure out what it is, but if Shelton says it was character and integrity, I am inclined to believe him. What I don't understand is why Clark thinks it won't come out. Perhaps the reason is just his hubris that he's a golden boy, and he doesn't have a clue the extent to which he is detested. Or, perhaps whatever the problem is, is so embarrassing to the US military and even the US that Clark is confident no military folks or even the Pubbies will let it out. Who knows. I hope it comes out soon enough to remove him as a viable Hillary proxy, forcing her to fish or cut bait promptly.

Which makes him a perfect tool for the Clintons to use and discard. The 'stalking horse' theory gains credence daily.
