Yesterday Issa told Neal Cavuto on Fox News that when he got in the race, McClintock told him he wouldn't be a spoiler. Issa went on to say he will throw his support behind the leading Republican candidate by Friday. He made it clear Arnold was in that position.

Schwarzenegger Gaining Key Republican Support*** LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A leading California Republican endorsed Arnold Schwarzenegger for governor while the conservative congressman who financed the state's recall petition stopped just short of doing so on Tuesday, as pressure mounted on the party's only other major candidate to bow out. With the Oct. 7 vote on whether to recall Democratic Gov. Gray Davis two weeks away, GOP leaders voiced growing concern that Republican state Sen. Tom McClintock would end up spoiling his party's quest to elect one of its own to replace Davis, should he be ousted.

They fear that splintering the Republican vote could clinch a victory for Democratic Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante, seen as more liberal than Davis.

Rep. Darrell Issa, the Republican congressman from San Diego who spearheaded the drive to unseat Davis, only to withdraw from the race himself, said he would soon throw his support to whichever Republican contender has the best chance of winning.

Issa said he has urged both Schwarzenegger and McClintock to consider stepping aside. He acknowledged that Schwarzenegger enjoys a strong lead over McClintock in the polls but said he was not ready to make an endorsement just yet.***

Just as the mumbled verbal footnote to the credit card commercial I just heard on my radio...

When Conservatives vote for an EnvironMentalist Whacko Liberal labeled (R)... "Terms, Limitations & Conditions Apply!"

We have even learned that Repellicans Nixon, G.H.W.B. & Pete Wilson will sell us out to the militant "Born Again Pagans" in futile attempts to stop their inexorable zeal!!!

Freedom of all types is losing due to this inconsistent conservatism!!!
