McClintock admits he is a loser and a spoiler:

"Since Arnold Schwarzenegger is the only viable anti-tax candidate on the ballot," said Todd Harris, a spokesman for the actor, "my guess is that this was Congressman Issa's nice way of putting pressure on Sen. McClintock to avoid turning Sacramento over to Cruz Bustamante."

Issa said that McClintock, a strong conservative, has admitted to him that it was unlikely he could win a one-on-one race for governor.

Lies, damned lies, misrepresentation, and then there's the SF Chronicle.

Issa may have enabled the recall to become more widespread quicker, but is far, truly far from "starting" the recall.
That is an outright lie. Living and working in the Sacramento valley, I have been a spectator and a participant from day one.

If so, he's playing it dumb. Already half the folks at this forum want to strangle him and wouldn't vote for him.

Who would deserve GOP support more, Darryl Issa who bankrolled the recall and then quickly got out of the way, or Tom McClintock who already has received a percentage of the absentee ballots sent in?

It's obvious that either you didn't read what I posted or you misunderstood it. I'm saying exactly the same thing you are, except not as bluntly.

Question: What happens to the other 13%--who do they vote for? Do you think I was implying these crossover and independent votes were going to go to McClintock! I don't think so!

To put it bluntly McClintock hasn't a snowball's chance in hell of winning this election and Issa's right. If it doesn't appear that we can beat Bustamante then voting no on recall is our only choice.

She's wrong to think that Schwarzenegger is better than leaving Davis in until the next regular election cycle.
