New DNC Blog Censors Differing Opinions

WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- The Democrat National Committee recently launched their official blog designed to disseminate news and information, according to an e-mail sent to Democrat supporters.

The new web log, popularly referred to as a blog, is designed to help Democrat voters become informed of "what the Bush administration is up to," according to the e-mail.

The e-mail also claims that since the "Bush administration (is) deceiving the American people and committing new outrages every day," the DNC needed a place for Democrats to find the "important stories."

To that end, the Democrat Party decided to create a blog ostentatiously entitled "Kicking Ass: Daily Dispatches from the DNC," an obvious reference to the donkey used to symbolize the Democrat Party.

Aside from the crude name of the blog, the website itself is very plain. With an all-white background, there are links to the ten Democrat presidential candidate websites as well as links to other Democrat blogs and pro-Democrat Party websites.

The DNC encourages people who visit the blog to interact with other Democrats about the issues discussed on the website through a discussion feature that can only be accessed by registering with the blog.

"You have a voice on the DNC blog," the e-mail states. "You can add your comments, give us suggestions, and discuss the issues of the day with your fellow Democrats."

However, comments from anyone who has a differing opinion from the Democrat Party are apparently removed. On Friday, the editor of Kicking Ass removed a couple of comments made against a story written about Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) speaking out against Bush's handling of the war in Iraq.

Not everyone commenting on the blog agreed with this policy, though.

"Although I disagree heartily with the excised posts, probably made by the same person, I take extreme exception to the comments being removed," remarked Clarence Rosa in a post. "That just gives the other side too much ammo to claim that we are the real fascists."

Personally, I don't have a problem with them removing whatever they want to remove.  We do the same thing here at FR.

I think more and more democrats are getting tired of the negative bs some members of their party keep throwing out. I don't think they want that; they want a good country where there is ample opportunity for everyone; not just a few select.

True enough, but perhaps if they are going to remove all none leftist though they shouldn't say, "You have a voice on the DNC blog", perhaps instead something along the lines of "Liberals have a voice on the DNC blog"

Even here on FR, AFAICT, postings aren't removed for being liberal - but for being offensive or off topic.
