I do not have the ability to comment on this POS with civility

Same here. After sleeping on this, I'm thinking that this POS is a little late (in life) in understanding that there's consequences to his unthinking actions. Those consequences should, IMHO, be some serious time in the slammer, compensation to the victim's family and removal from office.

I have often said that the biggest difference between Republicans and Democrats is that Republicans are a lot better about cleaning up their own backyard.

I hope that I am still able to say this after all is said and done in the Janklow matter. But I'm a little concerned that there haven't been any Republican lawmakers calling for his resignation (that I know of).

The bike is definitely a 1997 FLHR-I, Evo 80" with fuel injection. Had me fooled, but I cheated and checked the police report, crossed the vin # 1HD1FBR13V4625929. The tenth digit indicates 1997, the FB indicates FLHR-I. A little late for the discussion , but it was bugging me that I could not I.D. the bike. Just goes to show how much
damage a idiot with a license can do.

My guess, if we're still guessing, is a 2000 FLHRC.

I'm wrong again! Good catch. Where did you find the VIN?

Resignation is the right thing to do. However, he's a politician and doesn't want to lose whatever power and influence he has before his trial is over. We'll see how much of a man he is and whether he is ready to take his punishment.

I wonder what his plea will be?

Seems like Mr. Janklow has a long history of speeding. My late sister had a long history of speeding, too. But she "knew "someone", and got to keep her license. Last summer, she ran a stop sign. Only she did not hit a man on a motorcycle… an 18-wheeler hit her.

Why was Janklow driving in the first place. Didn't he have staffers in his car at the time of the accident? If not, he should have had at least a "driver". Maybe, Randy Scott would still be enjoying riding his motorcycle. Sure wish my sister had to have someone drive her around. I miss that girl.

The links are good, thank you. What a mess.

My close friends have a custom bike shop and have a staging area set aside in the shop for wrecks brought in on the tow hook, so I see a lot of wrecked harleys. (and I get the family discount on service! :))

But this poor guys bike looks like it just came out of a blender.

Seeing Janklows face on TV or newsprint makes my blood boil now. The bottom line here is Janklow's 'preferred treatment' by officials that at one time answered to him.

Reading about Randolph Scott's life shows me that had a regular non-politically affiliated citizen done this, the jail cell that held him (or her) would be the only escape from violent retribution.

But Janklow's doing everything except pointing his finger at the camera ala clinton.

I hope that this strongly affects the Sturgis Rally. I for one can't see S.D. ever again in the same light and if it's swept under the rug, A Sturgis boycott is in order.

What a piece of work, the only excuse he hasn't used is pink elephants.

Janklow reported swerving to avoid
vehicles in other traffic accidents:

I do not have the ability to comment on this POS with civility.

Don't feel alone.

At the rate the POS blew through the intersection, Randy Scott never had a chance.

If I'm placed in a similar situation, I hope I have enough presence of mind to aim for the windshield or driver's door . . .
