Voters, not worried that he may split the vote, stand by principles rather than desire to win.

I think we should avoid such articles for a few days.

You don't know me very well, do you. Go, McClintock! www.helptom.com

"And the fraud pretends to be a fiscal conservative."

I wish you wouldn't talk about Tom that way...

Letter to the Editor in today's Fresno Bee:

'Not at that price'

By Christopher G. Tasy
Sanger
(Published Sunday, September 21, 2003, 5:49 AM)

The so-called Republicans who are supporting Arnold Schwarzenegger for governor are near-sighted: They see only the economic side of the equation while trying so desperately to "win" (if the recall is even allowed to happen).

Republicans in California are selling their soul attempting to beat Gray Davis and the Democrats while forgetting the party stands for more than mere economics.

"But don't you want to win?" is a common sentiment of many California Republicans. My answer: "Not at that price." The heart of Republicans may belong to economics, but its soul belongs to the Judeo-Christian concept of right-and-wrong. It's a symbiotic relationship that, if split, dilutes what makes it such a strong alternative to the Democrats and Greens. Because Mr. Schwarzenegger is pro-abortion and seeks to legitimize homosexuality, the underlying effect is to undermine the family in favor of a purely secular state, devoid of Judeo-Christian values. I, for one, cannot and will not vote for such an individual.

State Sen. Tom McClintock, on the other hand, has delineated his views in favor of the family -- both economic and moral -- and will get my vote.

To make a purely economic choice for governor is akin to voting for someone who may create an economic powerhouse while ignoring where he stands on the right to life.

Mr. Schwarzenegger (plus Gov. Davis and Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante) believe killing children is permissible, all the while trumpeting the great economy. So did Hitler, Stalin and Mao.

McClintock, a longtime state legislator from Thousand Oaks, has paid the cost for standing by his beliefs before, such as when he and a handful of others opposed the budgets of then-Gov. Pete Wilson, a fellow Republican, in the 1990s - and saw the leadership appointments and campaign assistance from GOP chiefs evaporate

And that is exactly what will happen to any Republicans in the Assembly or Senate who fight Arnold on tax increases.

The only people who have been stopping tax increases (republicans who won't give the two-thirds vote necessary for tax increases) will be threatened with their political lives for fighting Arnold's tax increases, JUST AS TOM McCLINTOCK HAS BEEN ON THIS FORUM FOR NOT BOWING OUT OF THE RACE!!!

See if this sounds familiar:

"Tom's done in politics if he doesn't get out of the race now"

"If he fights them on this, he's unelectable next time"

"Tom can kiss his political career goodbye!"

Look back through the forum folks, see who's been saying these things, and judge their post accordingly.

All you Arnie-bots tell me again how McClintock will be supported for U.S. Senator if he just steps down now.

Too late.

"350? WOW!"

Laugh all you want, but, just remember, the arrogance you and the other Arnold "supporters" or should I say, ANTI-Buster supporteres of Arnold are pushing those of us who SUPPORT Mc further and further away from your small r dem clones and that includes Arnold. Some of you pulled the same kind of crap when Simon ran against riordan.

Thanks for the motivation.

"Principles Over Politics"

Right. How would they feel if they knew he skipped out on the Senate vote for the Domestic Partners Bill to go solicit the Indian Gaming people. August 28, 2003

"Name one way a government can "make sure" of anything without spending money to do it."

Gee - I wonder how they just legislate a minimum wage ?

and I suppose if I mention Tax breaks you will just say that a tax break COSTS money

Or just tell all the welfare Moms that they can earn as much as they want up to a certain number of hours a week working at a private day care center without effecting their payment.
... and drop most of the regulations and the minimum wage laws so that the centers can offer their services at affordable rates.

Even then, they see only a mirage.

All that was hashed out here, including your admission that his vote would have made no difference, yet you continue to post taliking points rather than have a discussion.

I wonder why you keep bringing this personal ?

Are you so weak in support of your "principles" that you think you can do better to attack the person rather then the ideas ?
