The Puget Sound Chapter of Free Republic is considering a conservative paper of some sort. Please post any ideas that you may have. This chapter is strong and active and even those of us outside the Sound area should support them.
I am pinging you ex-Texan for any legal advice or suggestions.
Libertina, Chad; we should start a thread for the Washington Freepers on this idea.

Perhaps you could ask for access, beg, borrow, or last resort, hack your way into the state GOP's spanking new database. They've compiled an updated list of Republicans from the Elephant Hunt. With their list you could send out calls for investors/help and if you direct mail the paper, with the database you'll have a large ready made target group.

One type of thing (real easy) that's popular here are short weekly columns with things like "Santa Fé's Winners and Losers" (a short list with one or two sentences per item) and "What People Are Talking About" with one or two sentences. These should only take a few hours to write up and allow quick commentary on timely items.
One advantage is that you don't have to cover breaking news or sports.
Of course, the only relevant items are advertising, advertising, and advertising. Everything else is just to get people to look at (and perchance to read) the ads.

DaughterOfAnIwoJimaVet: The Armadillo Times! LOL: ) Psst. I don't think Chad likes it. He said he did, but I think he was just being polite - kind of a little pat on the head.
